Hi, I was given Atenolol at the beginning. My cardio said ADD this Tambocor (Flecainide) in. I was crying and refuse to take it. Then he wrote Digoxin and Flecainide. I told him I'll get vomit with Digoxin. Then he put Verapamil and Flecainide. I was spinning to sleep every night. I took the verapamil off by myself. Just the Flecainide by itself was fine.
After 2 months, my heart beats very irregular. Big thumb here and there. Looks like restart every few minutes. GP wrote me to ER. I get admitted. The doctor told me that the Flecainide was not working anymore.
Anyway, I already implanted a 2 leads pacemaker. I got Wolff Parkinsons White Syndrome. I had my His bundle ablated. I am still having wpw. A very active accessory pathway makes me a non pacemaker dependent. He said I didn't have PAC nor PVC but I have AT, AF & SSS. Give it a go but be aware of if any irregular beats occur. Those irregular beats are not friendly.
I have been taking Flecainide 150 mg 2 x day since 1995 for ventricular beets. The only side effects I had was being tired and light headed. Everyone is different and I would ask your doctors about it and let them know your concerns.
For me flecainide was a God send it is the only med I have taken to keep V-Tach away, Sure beats being defibrillated.
Hi, I have never heard of this drug, but after doing some resreach on it, it seems to be a very affects drug. I am not saying that it is a good or safe one. But what I read from others they seem to think it is. But if you are still having doubts about taking it, talk t your doctor, and if all else fails seek a second opinion. If only for your piece of mind.
Hi, I was on Flecainide last year for about 6 months when I was pregnant as the Obs wouldn't let me take beta blockers. I was on your dosage.
For me, the first couple of months were hard. I felt spaced out and dizzy/lightheaded a lot of the time. It did calm my PVCs and SVT down though. It scared the **** out of me to take any meds during pregnancy, especially ones so strong but my cardio encouraged me to take it as the symptoms from my PVCs etc were really awful and would only get worse as the pregnancy progressed. I was lucky that there was no obvious harm done to my baby boy and he arrived on time at a whopping 8lbs 14 so their worries of growth retardation were unfounded!
As with all antiarrythmics, the pros and cons should be considered carefully with your Dr. as they are very strong drugs.
I am not a medical professional, just talking about my experience - don't forget that we all react differently to meds too!
