The Skips, Thumps and Jumps!!

Hello everyone,

I am here like the 100000000000000000000000000 of other people regarding my PVCs, Flutters etc. I have not been "Officially" diagnosed with anything. However, I know something is wrong! I am being told I have anxiety and my PVCs are normal. To me I am fat and need to lose weight.

I am 36 years old and have had heart palpitations for the past 1 and a half years. I have seen a Cardiologist, had an echo cardiogram and wore the monitors! My Dr. says I am fine and everything is benign and to stop drinking coffee (Easier said than done) My Cholesterol is a wee higher than normal. I am 5'10 290 Lbs. I walk the treadmill everyday for at least 30 minutes. Strenuous exercise brings on the palpitations, so I walk at 2.5 Incline at a pace of 3.0-3.2 everyday for around 30 minutes.

I feel like I am dying, and that only I care about my issue and everyone else could care less, it is so scary!! Recently my skipped beats which use to be more frequent, turned into a longer flutter type palpitation as opposed to the faster skipped beat here and there.

Sometimes, very seldom I am awaken with a fast heart beat and feel like I am going to faint, I feel my adrenaline kick in and sit on the toilet " I know TMI" but I typically feel the need to go number 2 due to the heart racing.

When I go to bed at night my fingers throb and I feel like blood is going to shoot from my finger tips at any given moment. This has settled in the last year or so. However when I get to sleep, if I wake in the night to pee or early A.M I feel a lot of pressure in my upper nose and forehead.

Weird Symptoms:

PVCs
Low iron
Dizziness
Feel like fainting
Intense or fast excessive cause palps
Hand goes numb sometimes
Feet or just toes go numb on the treadmill when I walk too long
I have Gerd
Diagnosed with server Panic Disorder
Mini tremors when I have a panic attack, typically after waking with a fast heart beat

HELP! :(

Even though it feels as though you are going to die odds are you will live a very long life despite having premature beats.  If your heart was evaluated to be healthy they really are not a health risk.  They just feel like they are.  The more anxiety you put out about them the more of them you will get.  The big triggers are caffeine,  sugar and carbohydrates, spicy foods and foods that cause acid reflux and gerd, too much sodium and dehydration.  I would suggest when you exercise make sure you have eaten well prior.  I get more of them when I exercise on and empty stomach than I do after I had eaten.  Drink lots of water and work on your anxiety.  When you wake with the fast heart beat do you know how fast it is beating?  It very well is also related to the same things that trigger the premature beats but try to get a more descriptive account of what is happening when you wake with the rapid heart beat, how fast is it, do you have trouble breathing, and does it start and/or stop in what feels like one heart beat or does it slow down gradually.  In any event, I would do your best to try and work on the fear this is bringing up in you.  I know easier said than done but your heart is a very strong muscle and can handle a lot and keep on beating.  The more you can trust it the less trouble it will give you.  Take care.

My sister is dating a Cardiologist, he looked at my EKG and said "You have Mitral Valve Prolapse"! Yet, I see a Cardiologist here who wont diagnose this!! So confused, I feel like Canadian doctors do not care. I am from Arizona originally

Have you had an echo done?  That is really the best way I thought to diagnose a prolapse.  I think mild versions of them are not that worrisome but do you have a way to get a private doctor in Canada?  Pay out of pocket for it?  Not sure how expensive that would be but just try the things I mentioned and hopefully things will settle down or go back to your doctor if you have more information to share that they can investigate.  Take care.
Yes, I have had an Echo. I was told my hart is structurally normal! Doesn't feel that way though. It is scary when it happens. For instance, I'' be sitting down laughing along with my wife about a show and BAM ; a deep flutter hits..
