22yo female
A little bit overweight
History of chronic marijuana smoking of 4 years, recently stopped
My symptoms began during a time when I was working out regularily every day, eating right and very little salt intake. Had lost 30 pounds and then began as follows:
Been experiencing some orthostatic kind of tachycardia. A rapid heart rate when I stood up, or in the middle of the night, or with physical exertion.
Accompanied by chest pain/tightness.
In addition to the tachycardia, for which I am on altenolol to keep my heart rate under control,
The left side Carotid artery has been intensely pulsating just above the collar bone. You can actually see it in my neck. There is pain all along that artery when you touch it and sometimes when you do not touch it.
There are times I get a "crawling" sensation in that area of the artery and then it will throb heavily.
I have done a cardiac ultrasound, bubble study, and nuclear stress test. All were normal except my cardiologist found a "slightly" (his words) leaky valve that he says wouldn't be causing me any of the complications I am experiencing.
I am still experiencing breathlessness while walking around, some chest pain/tightness that comes and goes. The last episode of chest pain lasted just a few minutes, a strange, uncomfortable feeling in the middle (just a little to the left) of the top of my chest. Almost like a burning sensation.
Any ideas? I am mainly confused about the carotid artery
