Vagus nerve and low heart rate

Just found out my cardiologist is checking me out for low heart rate which could be caused by Vagus nerve.  Does anyone know anything about this?  I am wearing a 30 day event monitor and when I lie down is goes crazy.  I do have syncope or near syncope, but all other test are normal.  Never heard of this before.  I am under a lot of stress which could trigger my heart problems.

Thanks!  Very interesting.  I will be glad when my 30 days is up with this monitor.  I woke up at 1am this morning and the monitor kept on going off...all morning.  Very frustrated and would like sleep.

Here's a link to a doc's explanation of the role of your Vagus nerve in all this.  It's long, but he's trying to make it all user-friendly, and if you really want to understand, plow through it.  And then read it again:
