Ventricular Tachycardia

I've had mild heart palpitations since I started having babies 18 years ago but never like this. For a long time I didn't have them and then suddenly a few months ago I started having them accompanied by chest discomfort, and sometimes even lightheadedness. They only last a few seconds but it is scary and uncomfortable. I had a normal EKG and then my doc ordered an at home monitor for 14 days where she diagnosed me with VT. I was also having ansiety attacks at the time.  My doc put me on Metoprolol and the VT had gotten better for a couple weeks but now they're back AGAIN! I wonder if my doc is doing everything she should and there's other testing I should have done. I think she's writing it off as the cause being ansiety but recently I haven't had ansiety and I"m still having these episodes of VT. Any suggestions??  I am a 35 year old female, pretty healty otherwise.

Are you sure the Dr diagnosed you with VT and not SVT. Totally different arrhythmias. Like rbeans said, V-Tach is not brought on by anxiety. However, SVT can be triggered by anxiety and stress. Dr's typically do not write off VT and would be treating it more aggressively ie. antiarrhythmics + BB's. I've had both and had ablation procedure for both. I think you might want to call your Dr's office and make sure you know exactly what arrhythmia you have been diagnosed with.

Good luck!

I was told be both my cardio dr. and EP dr. that stress and or anxiety will not cause VT.
I am having a ablation for my VT.  I swore that it was caused by stress but they say no way!

Maybe a second opinon would be good in this case.

Hope you feel better, VT can be very scary.
