What cause so many PVCs or palpitations?

I've been having a lot of PVCs or Heart Palpitations recently most of the time I feel them more so when lying down or at night also can feel a little vibration on one side also can feel in neck sometimes! I had heart surgery when I was 3 on arotic value was wondering what causes so many of them? I see a heart Dr on regular basic & have an appt next in july! I had a stress test done & wore a heart monitor & everything was OK,expect they said I had SVT,I had some lab test done & was a little low on potassium so I was put on a pill I also take metoprolol for high blood pressure! Can low or high potassium cause PVCs?
Was also wondering if anything else would help PVCs? Thanks!

It sounds like your heart is generally OK though when was your last echo done?  What type of svt do you have?  Certain svts can be corrected so maybe ask your cardiologist if the type was found is fixable.  As for the premature beats there are things you can try to avoid to see if it helps.  Avoid caffeine, sugars and carbohydrates and chocolate, spicy foods or anything that can trigger acid reflux or upset your stomach.  Try to avoid becoming dehydrated and work on managing stress and anxiety.  If you work out try to not overly push and do a proper warm up and cool down.  If you notice your premature beats in a pattern you can try and cough and see if that helps break them up.  I have to change sides at night sometimes to be able to fall asleep when they happen to me.  They are usually gone by morning.  In any otherwise healthy heart they are not a big threat so do make sure you get on top of the high bp and maybe ask for an echo if you haven't had one in a few years.  Make sure  you let the doctor know all that you are feeling especially if these are new symptoms that were not captured on the monitor.  Otherwise just try and avoid the big triggers and see if it helps.  I wish there was an easy way to get rid of them but mainly we each have to find our own way of relieving them and dealing with the ones that won't go away.  Take care.
