arrhythmia related to hormone problems!

Long explanation but bare with me!
I started to get arrhythmia's in 2007 after a thyroid iodine overload problem! I had been taking a product with high amounts of Iodine which eventually caused my thyroid become overactive intermittently! So I ended up with residual arrhythmia's! But something puzzled me in that I was usually susceptible to my arrhythmia's from 10PM to 2AM and was especially bad if I was lying down! So when I suspected my heart to act up I started the night's sleep in a sitting position! After 2AM I could lie down!  The adrenal glands recharge at around 10PM!
I was placed on Sotalol a Beta blocker for the arrhythmia's and that seemed to work fine till last summer when I stared the need to sleep sitting up again and even that I had a strong tendency to have many skipped beats!  So after seeing my Cardiologist he switched me on to Flecanide and Cardiziem. After the first week I felt great  but then on night I woke up with my heart pounding and felt my blood pressure high!  I took some water and checked my glucose! I'm not  diabetic but do have pre-diabetic tendancies and I was at 14.4mmol fairly high! But my last meal was supper and I didn't have that big a meal! But the pounding quickly subsided and I was able to go back to sleep!
A few days later during the day my blood pressure suddenly shot up again but this time I had to call an ambulance! I was beet red my heart was pounding in my throat and  I was trembling! My BP was up to 190 and It lasted for a few hours!  My glucose was again at 14.5mmol!  I was rescheduled to see my Cardilogist 2 days later. He kept mentioning the glucose and while it was high, I don't believe it was the cause of the high BP!

As for my glucose, I check myself regularly and no matter what I eat It can be high or low! Its cyclical just like my
arrhythmia's.  2-3 days I'd be normal the 2-3 flaky days!

Was I think is happening is that I have an adrenal gland problem, possible tumorous that's spitting out adrenaline!  While I was on Sotalol it helped because a Beta blocker also blocks adrenaline! So my adrenaline problem got worse and so when I was switched to the flecanide and Cardiziem they no longer masked the adrenaline so my body no longer has a defense against the adrenaline rushes!

Now I have trouble exercising not because of skipped beats but my blood pressure goes up!  I never had a blood pressure issue until I stopped the Sotalol!

Another hint is that again in 2007 I developed tinnitus which can also be due to adrenaline!

My question is does this make sense?

Pete

Yes, I completely understand about wanting to be fixed but sometimes there just isn't a cure out there.  Sometimes things go wrong and the only thing the medical community has to offer is medicine to control the problem.  You possibly do have some adrenal gland problem or even some other issue.  Regardless of it getting fixed, until that happens, your symptoms need to be controlled.  If your bp starts to spike over 200 you risk stroking out.  So take it serious regardless of the rest of the time when it is normal.  So go to your doctor and ask if you can get your adrenal gland checked.  But be prepared to manage your symptoms until you find a cure if a cure can be found.  I might also add tring to find some stress reduction avenues.  Stressing out about our medical conditons really just makes the situation worse.  You might find if you work through the stress your symptoms may subside a bit.  Hang in there, stay strong, and good luck getting to the bottom of this.

The thyroid issues have been fixed!  The Cardiziem is also a blood pressure
reducer, but since it doesn't block adrenaline ESPECIALLY when I get an adrenaline rush then my BP still goes up! Getting a BP medication to PATCH a problem is NOT the solution! Because my BP is in the 110 range when not adrenalized, if I take a BP med at the strength needed to keep my adrenaline rush BP normal, that means I'll bottom out when not under the influence of adrenaline!
Same goes for glucose, some days I can eat a big steak baked potatoes chocolate cake several beers and have a glucose reading of 5.9 one hour later! One day I had a brunch reserved for 10:30 and I like to eat,
so when I woke up I tested my glucose and it was 5.2mmol. I read that if you exercise before you eat the glucose impact is less severe, so without eating I did my weight training! At the end my BP went up to 170 and my glucose was at 9.5mmol!  When I get an adrenaline rush it feels just  like I almost ran the car off a bridge, you hands shake and you feel anxious!
Yet nothing stressful happened to trigger such a reaction! After about a hour the feeling subsided my BP went back down to the 130 range and my glucose was back to normal!  I went to the brunch pigged out and glucose was down to 7.0!

I don't want to be patched, I want to be fixed!

I believe thyroid issues can indeed trigger heart issues.  So I would suggest having your thyroid levels checked if you haven't had them checked lately.  I might also suggest consulting your doctor about going back on the bp med that you felt better on.  Obviously a 190 bp needs to be addressed and if the med kept it under control I am sure the doctor would be willing to represcribe it.  But either way you need to address the high bp in one way or another.  I don't know much about adrenal gland tumors except that I think i heard somewhere that they are rare but I would discuss your concerns with your doctor and see what they think.  Maybe there is a blood test that they can do to test the gland. Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.
