Yes, I completely understand about wanting to be fixed but sometimes there just isn't a cure out there. Sometimes things go wrong and the only thing the medical community has to offer is medicine to control the problem. You possibly do have some adrenal gland problem or even some other issue. Regardless of it getting fixed, until that happens, your symptoms need to be controlled. If your bp starts to spike over 200 you risk stroking out. So take it serious regardless of the rest of the time when it is normal. So go to your doctor and ask if you can get your adrenal gland checked. But be prepared to manage your symptoms until you find a cure if a cure can be found. I might also add tring to find some stress reduction avenues. Stressing out about our medical conditons really just makes the situation worse. You might find if you work through the stress your symptoms may subside a bit. Hang in there, stay strong, and good luck getting to the bottom of this.
The thyroid issues have been fixed! The Cardiziem is also a blood pressure
reducer, but since it doesn't block adrenaline ESPECIALLY when I get an adrenaline rush then my BP still goes up! Getting a BP medication to PATCH a problem is NOT the solution! Because my BP is in the 110 range when not adrenalized, if I take a BP med at the strength needed to keep my adrenaline rush BP normal, that means I'll bottom out when not under the influence of adrenaline!
Same goes for glucose, some days I can eat a big steak baked potatoes chocolate cake several beers and have a glucose reading of 5.9 one hour later! One day I had a brunch reserved for 10:30 and I like to eat,
so when I woke up I tested my glucose and it was 5.2mmol. I read that if you exercise before you eat the glucose impact is less severe, so without eating I did my weight training! At the end my BP went up to 170 and my glucose was at 9.5mmol! When I get an adrenaline rush it feels just like I almost ran the car off a bridge, you hands shake and you feel anxious!
Yet nothing stressful happened to trigger such a reaction! After about a hour the feeling subsided my BP went back down to the 130 range and my glucose was back to normal! I went to the brunch pigged out and glucose was down to 7.0!
I don't want to be patched, I want to be fixed!
Pete
I believe thyroid issues can indeed trigger heart issues. So I would suggest having your thyroid levels checked if you haven't had them checked lately. I might also suggest consulting your doctor about going back on the bp med that you felt better on. Obviously a 190 bp needs to be addressed and if the med kept it under control I am sure the doctor would be willing to represcribe it. But either way you need to address the high bp in one way or another. I don't know much about adrenal gland tumors except that I think i heard somewhere that they are rare but I would discuss your concerns with your doctor and see what they think. Maybe there is a blood test that they can do to test the gland. Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.
