fainting-sorry for the ramble

I have been having chest pain palpitaions and shortness of breath......total faint off and on since i was 11. called an ambulance as my hr jumped to 173bpm.......along with the symptoms that acompany that. They gave me something that starts with an A through an iv to try and slow it down......it hurt like someone hit me with a brick but it didn't slow it......er sent me home with undetermined diagnosis and supraventricular tachycardia. Still had problems and saw my regular doc who heard a murmur and sent me for an echo......EF was normal at 54% FS 28%.....slightly elevated rvsp of 38.8.........conclusions state abnormal hypertrophy of the lv apex-consistent focal cardiomyopathy. Only trace MR and TR.......since last august my fainting is worse. Nothing seems to trigger the spells........i get a fluttery heartbeat....i may even feel weird and then Bam.....lights out. I dont even have 10 seconds before its happened. When i come to(the blackness fades......apparently i scare people as i pass out with my eyes open) I feel very very very bad when its over........i have slight tremors but not seizure activity. This evening i had several episodes so i checked my bp which was normal hr normal but i keep getting the irregular beat symbol.
My doc has never been concerned about the focal cardiomyopathy and does not associate the symptoms im having with it.......how can they say this when ive had no further tests.......they don't even know why i have it there. can my fainting be heart related if my gp doesnt think so? I have had thyroid and glucose tests which are neg...not diabetic or sick in any way. What else is there?

I feel for you, my palps make me "feel" like I'm going to faint but I don't, my heart starts beating very irregular, sometimes my face goes flushed, I get this weird heaviness in my legs, like I'm getting ready to pass out, but I also get pausing also, that's scary , because my heart feels like it's not going to start beating!

Wow that is horrible Im lucky to have a great PcP.  My cardiologist told me its never "normal" to pass out/faint/black out and each episode should be checked out throughly.

If you haven't go to a cardiologist until you find one you feel comfortable with and that is listening to you - only we know our bodies and what's normal.

You should wear a 24 hour holter monitor. Do you pass out every day? If so this will let you know for sure what is going on when the fainting happens. I would not let it go. Make an appt with a cardiologist if possible. Good luck!

You have some very serious symptoms, and I am disappoint to read your doctor hasn't taken a stronger interest in finding the cause.

While some of your symptoms could be related to heart problems, you have had the main first tier tests and no problems were found, so I suspect the problem isn't your heart.
