hiatal hernia and heart symtoms

I have a Hiatal hernia that causes heart symptoms as described in all the posts and I obtained complete relief  by having my  stomach messaged out of my esophagus. This is after I've spent $16,000.00 on heart tests and doctors who would not listen to my weird symtoms, such as "every time i eat, my heart starts to skip beats". The DR's thought I was crazy. I've since taken action to discover why my heart was skipping beats. If you want to get rid of your problem, go see a chiropractor who knows how to message the stomach out of the esophagus . If he does it correctly, you will be a new person. good luck

Hiatal hernia, esophageal reflux, etc. can indeed mimic a heart attack or angina. My nephew (age 34) has gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and was taking Nexium or Prevacid for years--too many years. (We tried to convince him to go back to the digestive disease doctor to see what could be done because you're not supposed to be on these meds for like 8-10 years.) Sometimes he would have palpitations and when he took his blood pressure on the home monitor machine, the arrthymia symbol would appear. He went to ER and to the cardiologist more than once to be checked out and they did EKGs, echocardiogram tests, etc. and could not come up with any heart cause for the palpitations. He worried that maybe the Nexium or Prevacid, etc. might be causing or aggravating the palpitations.

My Mom suggested he try just taking sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) instead of pills when he had heartburn symptoms. He made the switch and says he doesn't have palpitations anymore. Just a thought...

I have seen more than one post about hiatal hernia and heart symptoms and it is making me wonder if this could be my problem. I do get indigestion very often and when I eat I noticed palpitations as well.

With due respect to your post i am glad that this worked for you but a chiro IS NOT a cardiologist and the heart is definately not their specialty.  Its like i said having your hairdresser putting a transmission in your car.  That is why i believe we have so many specialists and why doctors go on with their education and training for all of those extra years to specialize in specific fields of medicine.  A chiros specialty is matters of the of the muscles and skeleton of the body...true some chiros have been M.D.'s first and gone onto chiro but they are definately not a replacement for a cardiologist who knows nothing but the heart and the surrounding area.  Again i am glad you found your answers that have helped you and that is so important but generally speaking a chiro will not have the necessary equipment in their offices to test a patient such as holters, ECG's, EKG's and quite possibly not even AED's.  This is just a cautionary post and i don't mean to offend anyone by it.........
