hypertension

my blood pressure is 190/115 rate 73 or so in the morning.
In the evening after a couple of drinks and some relaxation time it can drop to 115/78 rate 110 to 120.
This is a whopping drop and I can not believe that it could be normal.
I am concerned about this as I have been a stage 1 hypertension my whole life(145/95 average) with lower readings at the doctors office!
I can find no reference to this particular scenario in any articles that I have found on the internet.
I currently have no insurance, so I am trying to find an answer on my own.
Thanks
Glenn

I was able to bring my bp down with Hawthorne/calcium supplements recommended by my naturopath.  Apparently blood pressure does rise in the morning, although your reading is quite high.
Try the natural way first.  I am a little 'defeated' because I also now have irregular heartbeats so I am on Metoprolol now and I feel great.  If you are only dealing with the bp, natural is the way to try.

Call a Teaching Hospital and make an appointment with one of their clinics.  Tell them that you have no insurance. They will make the appointment for you for the appropreate clinic.  Since you are working 50% of the time you will be billed accordingly.

Good luck with the herbal supplements.  I tried that also, and it would not work for me, and therefore had to go on BP meds.  My BP at times was as high as yours, and again as low as 115/75.

Your friend should have told his doctor about the "no sex" side effect, and he could have switched him to another BP medication which does not have this effect.  Many men are on BP meds and I do not think that all of them ended up impotent.

Never checked out a free clinic, do not know the requirements.
I am a construction manager and normally have health insurance.
I am 59 and only work about 50% of the time and the insurance provided for me thru
my employers, is too expensive to maintain after the projects are finished($350-$400
per month).
I was given Diovan samples last year and took it for app 30 days with no real results.
I am a person who really believes there is a way to drop the numbers thru diet and cleanses.
I have had a life long battle with Candida and I feel this is at least one of the culprits.
I am currently starting a herbal supplement for hypertension(too many ingredients to list), so I will see how this goes.
My friend had the same scenario with his blood pressure and now he takes Verapamil every day.
His blood pressure is now normal but he has to take Viagara to have sex, a common side effect.
Not a good trade!
So I will let you know how it goes .
Thanks for your comment and concern.

A blood pressure of 190/115 in the morning is kind of high even if it drops later on.  Can't you go to one of these free clinics?

Did you ever get medications for your stage 1 hypertension?
