irregular rhythm after I eat

I have SVT's periodicaly and have suffered fro many years. I take Tenormin which helps control the frequency, and also the severity when I do have an attack.
I have a hiatus hernia and Gerd, and have had an ulcer and many years of digestive problems....feeling bloated. full and stomach spasms which valium helps with a bit, plus antacids.
Lately especially, after I eat a normal size meal of anything I get spasms, short of breath and irregular rhythm and short runs of SVT about 10 minutes after I finish eating. This goes on for about an hour or so, and I take Zantac and some Tenormin and it gradually settles.
I've had all this for years but not as frequent and not daily after dinner.
I'm sure the extra systoles and SVT are connected to the digestion and food intake; anybody else have this or any ideas please? Have had all the tests and got the usual answers but no remedy.
thanks, Kevin

You might want to try a PPI for your reflux.  Small meals help, as does waiting 2-3 hours to lie down after eating.  No notion on the upset after "going."  Do you have a gastroenterologist?  One might be able to help unravel your issues.  Good luck.

I have been taking a lot of antacids Zantac and Gaviscon dual action to try to selttle my stomach spasms and pain etc as I described in my post above. I made and ate an omelet with potatoes, carrots and herbs in it a few days ago and got so ill during the night I wanted to kill myself. I took Gaviscon dual action, Zantac and valium which usually helps it, and after three days it had receded to just the 'normal' discomfort.
For the past few months I have been taking Gaviscon dual action which seems to help (GERD) but when I get bad and take it I get constipated for a day. Always go daily, but have noticed yjos recently.
THE STRANGEST thing is, that on the days I don't 'go', I feel fine. No stomach problems at all, had a coffee which usually half kills me and a couple of peaches which I usually can't eat without great discomfort.
Woke this morning, felt OK and the 'innards' were calm. Went to the toilet - back to normal, then again and lo and behold the spasms started up, pains, chest tight and missing beats. Feel horrible again.
I have noticed that this is a pattern - any ideas? this has got me stumped.

I respond mostly to let you know your post is being read... you are, I think, one of "our" experts on your question.

At age 73 I can say the old body doesn't work as well as it used to, and not just the heart.

You do sound to me like more of a digestive driven problem.  You said when you eat "anything" you get the problem. Still I suggest you think carefully about what you eat most frequently, could be a simple as milk, or beer... to give a contrasting example.  When you identify the item or two that you frequently include in your meal, eliminate them for a couple of days and see what happens.

Good luck,
