junctional rhythm

6 weeks post ablation for SVT's . I went to the EP and he said I was going in and out junctional rhythm. He wants to wait 2-3 more months before doing another surgery. My heart may need more time to heal . Did anyone have  junctional rhythm  disappear a month or two after ablation. ???  Ablation did correct the SVT's I was having..
Thanks

I just had sa node ablation and ended up in a terrible junctional rhythm.  Doc put pacemaker in, with meds and pacemaker I still have the junctional rhythm, but not nearly as bad. Pacemaker was just put in November 1.  Did your junctional rhythm ever settle down?

My EP is thinking it could be around where he ablated in Jan or close to the AV node. He told me that he hasn't had to put a pacemaker in anybody since 1995 with people having junctional rhtyum.
Beta blocker is helping me function from day to day. . I know they make people tired but it keeps me in a good 65bpm.
I started working 4 hours a day and that has kept my mind off of things.

The other thing I was thinking if this doesn't go away is there some other way to manage the issue if your spot is too close and a pacemaker is needed to avoid actually getting the pacemaker.  Basically I would ask what all your options are and how each option will affect you before you go to the drastic step of getting a pacemaker if this issue doesn't resolve itself.

I looked over my report because I thought I remembered seeing something about junctional rhythm in it and it stated in the report that the EP applied the RF applications where he saw any junctional rhythm or tachycardia and didn't stop I guess until it stopped or they feared a block was about to occur.  So I guess that says to me that they possibly did not get all of your issue.  This could mean that they can go in and still fix it but it could also mean that your core issue is too close to the avnode and to fully fix it they would need to put a pace maker in.  I would hold out hope that your issue corrects itself or that your EP was just too cautious and a second ablation would fix the issue without the need for a pacemaker but if you do wind up needing one just try to stay positive that by getting one it will help your heart to function better and help you to feel better.  But I send prayers your way that you can avoid the need for a pacemaker.  Best of luck I am pulling for you.

I'm hoping time will correct it but some days I'm thinking yes and then I'm like oh man.   Medicine is letting me function throughout the day. I will get over this not on my time but Gods time.  I over due it from day to day but I feel like I have to push myself or I'll due nothing but sit on the couch.

What symptoms do you have??  My EP told me he wanted to wait and that he might have to use crypto ablation if he does surgery again due to it being close to the AV NODE.

I have heard that can happen with an avnrt ablation, the av node gets blocked and a pacemaker is needed.  It is the biggest complication from that type of ablation but I have also heard that it can occur but once the heart settles down and maybe isn't swollen or something it goes away which is probably what your ep is hoping.  I do hope that if this is the case with you that yours corrects itself.  I think going in and out may be a good sign it will go away.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

i had an ablation done to svt in September of last year i have been in junctional rhythm since my sa node refuses to fire...it may be necessary to have a pacemaker inserted to correct it..im having mine put in on the 26th of this month.

So you are saying the ventricles are not pumping?  I do not know much about junctional rhythms though it sounds a bit like afib me.  From what I have read junctional rhythm is a sign the avnode has taken over for the sinus node failing to keep the whole heart pumping.  So maybe it is the atria aren't pumping similar to afib.  Well I am not a doctor so they should be the ones to explain what is going on with you but I do hope that this clears up.  Hang in there I do hope you feel better soon.

I still get really tired shortness of breath. Some days I feel great other days I can only do dishes for about 10 mins. I go into what feels like fast rhythm but my heart rate is only 80-90.  I have a crazy lump in my throat when I swallow do to the ventricle being close while my atrium is trying to pump and the blood has no where to go so it fills the veins and Arteries in my neeck. Still have some skipped beats

I don't know that I had junctional rhythm after my ablation for avnrt but I agree waiting 2 or 3 months before rushing into anything else is a wise idea.  It does take a while for the heart to calm down from an ablation.  So what sort of symptoms are you feeling with the rhythm?  For me I got a bad case of pvcs and pacs about 5 weeks out and still get them to this day but a year and a half later they aren't as strong or bothersome as they were post ablation.  Well good luck I do hope it corrects itself.
