I don't know much about your issue but I assume he believes the surgery risk outweighs the benefits to you.  I would say if it is a major concern and your symptoms are such that they are disrupting your life and ability to function then seek a second opinion.  Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.

I have all the symptoms and they are only worsening but he feels i am not high risk... he suggested asprin and i dont wanto take that or any blood thinners for the rest of my life and still end up having a stroke ltr on in life. I have symptoms that are preventing me from doing alot of things and enjoying life.. i want this closed but many docs i read do not close until some one actually had a stroke, i mean who want sto take that risk and having a stroke i sure dont. The drs med assitnt told me everything came back norm , stress test and ekg but there not baseing on my symtpoms and the moderate shunting from right to left and how i feel... they never mentioned anytning about if i would have surgery risks.
