palpitations

.Hi.  In my case i was suffering from palpitations with no dizziness or breathing difficulty. the holter recorded a max rate of 158. Till now i have contacted 3 cardiologists, two told i have anxiety and one told i have psvt. all my test i.e ecg, echo, tmt are normal. no bp or sugar.now i am on beta blockers. still i feel that my heart beat increase and when i chk the pulse it will be between 90 to 108. So i am just trying to concentrate on my daily life and avoid getting anxious. Even one Doctor advised me a psychiatarist coz he felt that i am highly anxious. .

I have the same thing. It's just electrical. I hate when they say it is anxiety or stress. For me I will be fine and the next I am at 160 so don't tell me stress.

If you've had a diagnosis even from one cardiologist from psvt, I would see  an electophysiologist who is an expert on the electrical system of the heart. If it is psvt, chances are very good it can be fixed with an ablation. I suffered from it for over 20 years before something was finally done for it. If it's PSVT your heart rate will increase from normal to a very high rate in literally a heart beat.

Were you having an episode while on the holter?  If you were then it is likely you may have sinus tachycardia which can indeed be induced by stress.  We all get it when we get into that fight or flight mode.  People who are anxious likely feel it more often.  So my advice to you is to try and do your best to manage your reaction to stress.  When you notice your heart starting to beat faster stop and take deep breaths.  As you do that feel the tension leave your body.  Your heart should slow down after you have done a few of the breaths.  If worse comes to worse and you just are having trouble managing your anxiety you may want to consider anti depressants.  But talk to your GP and see if it would be something that is right for you.  Best of luck and keep us posted on how you feel.
