You can have shortness of breath with anxiety from all of this, but RNRita is right....get it checked out!
If your heart rate is going higher during the day and you are wearing the belt, I would be willing to bet it is due to the extra 30 pounds. It forces your heart to work harder, naturally, so it must pump faster. When you take the load off, you take the load off of your heart as well, so it doesn't have to pump as fast for the same cardiac output. And, yes, a fit person can have a hr in the 50s or even less when resting. Not normal if you're not fit. I would be a bit concerned about the SOB, though.
Hi, my husband is a very fit person and always busy doing something. He doesn't watch tv at all! His resting heart rate is usually around 50-60. Our son had a reaction to a prescription drug last year and was rushed to the ER by ambulance twice with a heart rate of 39-40. He had also passed out at work and fell to the ground and hit his head. He is also very fit (always played soccer-body fat was 7-8 when playing full time). The ER Dr. said a VERY VERY fit person like Lance Armstrong could be healthy and have a rhr at 40 but it is not normal to be below 60 unless you are really fit. I wouldn't worry as much about the difference in the AM vs. PM with stairs etc. But I think you should at least go and have it checked out at least by your Primary Dr. They can pretty much tell right off if you need to see a cardiologist. Keep us posted please!
