Can you associate the pounding with anything physical (diet/tired) or mental (stress/anxiety/depression)?

You didn't say anything about ER running an EKG? Did they do any heart testing?  Seems they moved right to other causes, perhaps for good reason, but if there were no heart specific test run I'd wonder why and think it could be a good idea to get them done, at least an EKG.

Was an EKG ran while you were in the ER ????? If not i agree with Jerry that you should have one ran, the next time these symptoms occurs i would have the ER run an EKG, becuase any problum with your heart will have a better chance of showing up on the EKG while it is happening. i dont think acid reflux can make your heart beat stronger or faster, that could be a wrong diagnosis, i went to the ER five times in a mouth before they found out something was wrong with my heart, the fact that it happens after you eat could be due to the fact you are consuming salty foods, and that would have alot to do with your heart if thats the case. I have tachycardia an my heart rate gos up after eating certain foods, so it makes me wonder if you might be haveing the same problem.....I hope i was of some help to you, keep us posted on how it turns out.....good luck

I dont think pneumonia could be a factor in any of this, simply because of the fact that your lungs an heart are to totally different organs, I just cant imagine pneumonia causing a heart condition, But what i could see it doing is uncovering an underlying heart condition, something you might have always had but never knew... but then again im not a doctor…. You said your heart beat is really strong (Palpitations), is it also a fast heart rate, (190’s 200’s)?????? Does it ever just start for no ression, such as when your watching T.V. or something????? Is your blood pressure high when these symptoms occur????? If I was in your shoes I would keep going to the doctors until they send you to a cardiologist. If you think some thing is wrong with your heart then you deserve to have it looked at by someone that specializes in that filed, ever if it’s not your heart it’s still better to be reassured, you know…..  Remember your heath is priceless we only have one body an we need to take care of it, an if you feel something is wrong with yours then you disserve a explanation……
