rapid, irregular heartbeat walking

Ever since I had a pacemaker implanted, my heat goes in to ineffective overdrive after walking only a couple of steps.
(120 +) On the otherhand, even strenuous workouts on strength machines results in only small (70 to 87) increases in pulse rate not accompanied by any discomfort. Under those conditions. my heart seems to pump normal.

Thank you very much. Have a follow-up appointment with my doctor on May 8. Will certainly mention your suggestion, which by the way agrees with my (admittedly not very informed) lay assessment: I was going to suggest to turn the pacemaker off for a walking test in the office.

It might be that your pacemaker sensor is set to sensitive. The first place I would start is to decrease the sensor and see if that improves your symptoms.  Probably worth mentioning to  your doctor to see if they can change the programming.
