sinus arrhythmia and ablation
anyone have sinus arrhythmia and had an ablation does the outcome require a pacemaker?
the 2 monitors came back clear and so did the echo's the ep study is to figure out if there is any irregularity and where the source of it is...and if they find it they plan on ablating it and yes very expensive this procedure is$ 74,000
Did your 2 rounds of 30 day monitors show anything and if so what? What do your doctors want to try and ablate? I would say if you tend towards low bp beta blockers may actually make that worse so maybe keep an eye on your bp and if it is too low then ask the docotor if the meds can be adjusted or changed. But for sure ask them what they think they will try to ablate with the study and ablation before commiting to one. They are expensive in the states and you will get charged your full out of pocket for it. Mine was 4,000. Not that money should be a factor in regards to your health but it isn't clear to me that you actually have something that can be fixed at this time. That doesn't mean your doctors didn't see something on the monitor but I personally would like to know what they saw so I knew what it is they are planning to do. My assumption is they may have seen some sort of svt as opposed to just sinus arrhythmia. It can be ease to confuse the different conditions based on the names. So just try and get them to clarify things for you. Take care.

Yes i have had the echo the 30 day event monitor each was done twice...i was on atenolol 25 beta blocker...i feel like after a while it makes it worse...i also take buspar 10mg for anxiety...they wanted to do a tilt table test but they just skipped ahead to wanting to do the ep study and possible ablation
It all depends on what the issue is if it can be fixed. If it is being caused by an accessory pathway an ablation can help though this is generally in regards to fast beats. If you have afib that also can be ablated. If you have something like sick sinus syndrome they may be able to try and modify the sinus node to get the issue to stop. However if you just have ectopic beats there isn't much they can do to fix those except give you beta blockers which sometimes help and other times don't. As well inappropriate sinus tachycardia is generally caused by issues outside the heart like eletroylite imbalances or thyroid issues as well as problems with the brain. So to correct it you would need to address the outside issues. If it turns out is is something like pots or dysautonomia simple life style changes may be enough to help like getting more water and sodium into your diet and exercising more but first you need to be evaluated by a cardiologist to figure out what exactly you have. You say you had an echo. That will simply show that your heart is in healthy working order which is good but doesn't diagnose a heart arrhythmia. You really need to be on a heart monitor when you are having symptoms to really get this properly diagnosed. If you have daily symptoms a 24 hour holter may be enough but if you have more sporadic symptoms you can ask for a 30 day which requires a bit more work on your part but may be worth the effort to get this diagnosed., Regardless, just because one test did not get you an answer doesn't mean another won't help figure it out. Just go back to the doctor and find out what else you can do to get this evaluated. Take care.
I can't answer that but there talking about ep studybecause i have nsvt. I don't deal well it all to be honest I sleep at weird times take naps I get shaky and stuff. My guess us you have the same thing I have and its not just sinus arrhythmia and you might have pots. I'm no doc but I'd get a tilt table just to check.
yea im not sure but its scary and everything...do you think ablation will fix it?
yes its very exhausting i have had the echo and everything and nothing has been found or anything...how do u deal with it?
I have these exact same problems to a tee I've been going threw all the tests and stuff and they found a lot just nothing to make it better. I hope you well I also am very exhausted.
That sound more like something like inappropriate sinus tachycardia or sick sinus syndrome than sinus arrhythmia since that is fairly benign and does not cause symptoms. I would say make an appoitment with a cardiologist and get this checked out. You should have your heart fully evaluated. Take it slow until then and try to not exert yourself too much and see if that helps. Hopefully whatever it is will resolve itself but do go and get checked out. well when i went to the ER and they did and EKG they told me thats what it was and then i was having PVC's also sometimes i feel faint sometimes my heart beats fast and irregular and sometimes its slow and irregular and it speeds up and slows down..makes me dog tired when its finally back regular i am not really active anymore bc im so tired all the time
Sinus arrhythmia is generally not considered dangerous and is rarely treated unless the sinus node that fires off the beats of the heart is sick can causing wild swings in heart rate but sinus arrhythmia essentially means there is a difference between the heart rate when breathing in and out. If it is a marked difference like 20bpm then it is considered sinus arrhythmia. Most children have it and some adults do. Do you have symptoms and what are they?
