pulse rate question

I'm a 31 year old female, weight 119 height 5/6.  I recently had my blood pressure taken and it was 129/87. My pulse rate was 59.  Is all this normal, I was told my pulse rate was VERY low and now I'm concerned,  I've also been told by my peers lately that I am too thin. By medical standards is 119 Ok for me,  I do have a small frame and wear about a size 4 now.  I did have pre-clamsia when I gave birth 3 years ago and take anxiety medication now. 1mg Klonipan twice a day.   No other medications though.  I'm a light smoker and very light drinker.

Thanks

Connie,
Thanks so much for the reply, I haven't actually been to the doctor yet but I'm going to make an appointment. My job is extremely stressful and I'm going through a divorce so I'm thinking my blood pressure being a little high might have something to do with it.  I'm glad to hear my pulse rate is OK though that was my main concern. As far as the eating is concerned, I am NOT a stress eater so latley I haven't been eating like I should. I've lost over 25 pounds since 31 March.  My paren'ts are of course concerned, and when I look at myself I do see ribs and my hip bones stick out a little. RIght now I'm extremely tired and have been told by my a doctor that I'm anemic. I plan on having a check-up soon to make sure eveything is Ok.

Thanks again for writing back.

regards

Hi Liz,

Welcome to the Heart Rhythm Community; we're glad you found us and hope we can be of some help.

Have you always been relativley thin?  I didn't weigh 100 pounds (except for pregnancies) until I was in my 40's and people used to comment all the time.  I ate when I was hungry and felt fine.  The doctor was not concerned as blood tests, etc. were fine.  Is your doctor OK with your overall health?

A normal pulse is between 60 and 100, so your pulse is very close to normal.  As long as you feel OK, it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.  Your diastolic BP is a little on the high side, but the doctors don't usually consider it "high" until you've had a few higher readings in a row.  Might be worth a quick check up just to be sure you're BP doesn't sneak up on you.

About the cigarettes.......well, you know.  No lectures, but try to stop since it really is best for you.  I know it's hard.  Don't set unrealistic expectations and only try if, and when, you are ready.
