My hormones also made mine much worse when I was in that season of my life as well as perimenopause. When I went into menopause things acutually go so much better and some years I didn't have a single attack. With age, however, things started getting worse. (Maybe I'm going out of menopause finally????) I finally was diagnosed correctly after 29 years with SVT and had an ablation last June. I haven't had a single attack since then, just some short runs of what feel likes a min attack but I think they are just runs of PACs. A good EP can do wonders for your heart. It has been so nice to have to worry about when the next one will hit. SVT, unlike other arrythmias, is the most successful to treat. So if you have to have an arrythmia, this is the one to have. Good luck and keep us posted.
Hormones definitely make it worse. And when you approach the age where you are dealing with perimenopause it gets even worse still. At least that was my experience.
That's interesting. I just got diagnosed with SVT as well because I noticed a pattern of it getting worse during a certain point in my cycle. My SVT acted up from about 5 days past ovulation and lasted until my period arrived. IMO, hormones can definitely trigger it. My SVT was also really bad during both of my pregnancies and it happened immediately, not just near the end of my pregnancy.
Hormones in the blood are one of the many factors that can affect your heart's rhythm. While I can't appreciate your particular problem (for obvious reasons), I have had the ablation procedure along with a bunch of others here. I'd be glad to anyswer any questions you may have regarding it.
