My Doc prescribed as needed. You are right. I think as with all anti-anxiety drugs the reliance on it can cause problems other than heart related issues. I use 1/2 tab under the tongue rather than run it thru the liver which has enough to deal with what with Flec and warfarin etc. We create the life we want moment by moment if we are present and sometimes we need help.
I agree with you completely....and yes he is a complete jerk. I will be changing Dr.'s as soon as I can get an appt. I've always taken clonazapam on an as-needed basis but I've often wondered if it would be ok to take one every day.
Any doctor who would not help you out with a prescription is a total jerk, I'd be finding a new one, if I did not have xanax as a secutity blanket I would be a nut case. I never abuse it but when I need one it is a heaven sent. My doctor wants me to take some everyday but I have found that they are very effective if I only use them on a need basis
Candi...I have a brand new local cardio Dr and when I saw him (before I decided on the ablation and talked to my Dr'.s office in Austin) I begged him to give me a prescription for Clonazapam, just to help me relax when i would have an a-fib episode and you know what...he absolutely refused. I used to take it only when I needed it to help me relax, and it really did help so I know you'll do well and feel better with it. So far I haven't needed it, but I wish I had a few just in case. :)
Thanks for the great support as always. My Cardio is my EP as well. I think I'll go with the something in the air theory. I've been prescribed Klonazepam. Now I'll just wait for the burn marks on my upper body to heal from the ZAP in the ER and continue on following your and LindaTX example of positive thinking. Thanks again everyone.
Candi, I'm so sorry...it probably is just a fluke. Try not to panic, from what I've read this isn't unusual, but I feel for you. When I called my EP's office to schedule an appt for the fall ablation, they told me to go back on my old med, Rhythmol which I had discontinued last Sept. Well, after 2-3 days on it, I can't believe how great I feel. If I thought this would work forever I wouldn't even consider an ablation. I have so much energy I can't believe it. I had been havin those weekly episodes of 8-12 hrs for the last 3 months. Ugh. Wish I'd started back on the med back then. I hope you get to feeling better...the flec should keep you going good. Keep us posted! Later, Linda
Did you read my post, I had ablation 5 months ago, and I am having runs of svt, I so can relate to how you are feeling. I just took 1/2 zanax. It must be something in the air.
I hope it was just a fluke and part of your healing process. Its only been 2 months for you, your heart is still healing.. Did you all your EP?
