Any advice please.

Hi I am a 34 year old female . I have been struggling with hemorrhoids for years. Ever since I gave birth. They usually are just bothersome . But yesterday I went to the restroom and they started bleeding . Not a lot but there was enough on and off all night. The bleeding has stopped they are still uncomfortable . I am in the process of getting health insurance . Until then I was wondering if there is anything I can do at home . Any advice will be very appreciated . Thanks.

Hi there,

I suffered myself for many years and waited way too long before seeing a doctor. I thought it's something so many people have, so it can't be too bad and it's sure gonna get better. It didn't, at least not long-term, so you really should see a doctor but I see that you'd like to/ have to wait for a while. Until you got your insurance sorted out try this: Eat plenty of fibres and drink a lot of water. If you're in pain going to the toilet get some stool softener and and a creme or gel from the pharmacy. Also sitzbaths helped me a lot and i sometimes put a drop of tea tree oil on a wet towel, put it in the freezer and cooled the area with it. It might burn a bit but helped me a lot. Once you go to see doctor make talk about the different options to get rid of them longterm. As a mum you need your energy for other things! Those operations sound scary but there are many ptions now that are not as painfull and can be done ambulant. I for example had mine removed with thd and I'm glad I did it. All the best!
