Hemorrhoid banding - Open sore does not heal: Help!!

My wife had 3 external hemorrhoids banded over a 6 week period - one every two weeks. The first two bandings went well. But the third banding is not healing after two weeks. Seems that every BM she has causes the sore to be irritated so that it does not heal. She is trying to maintain soft stools in order to minimize irritation of the sore caused by stools. She takes psyllium, prune juice, stool softener, & watches her diet so that only foods that result in soft stools are eaten. She also has a probe that is kept cold in the freezer that she inserts once or twice per day to alleviate the discomfort. This is not helping & she is miserable.

Does anyone have any advice for:
(1) How to get the sore to heal?
(2) How to alleviate the pain until the damn thing heals?
(3) Anything else that you think may help?

Thank you!!!

while you are tired of everything, i think you should give a try to Lido-nifedipine Gel. It effect good in my case, m quiet fine for last 3 years. It is easy to apply and fast to heal.

Hi,
I had hemorrhoids in my anus. I had tried medications, but to be very honest, it really does not work. I finally decided to to consult a doctor. He advised me to get it operated. Initially I was reluctant but later on i went for it. I did it in 2008. For the last 5 years, I did not had any problems. previously I had back pain, constipation, stomach pain, fatigue, but now all are gone. So act wisely.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Pain is likely for 24 to 48 hours after rubber band ligation. Your wife may use acetaminophen (for example, Tylenol) and sit in a shallow tub of warm water (sitz bath) for 15 minutes at a time to relieve discomfort. If the pain persists then she needs to get it evaluated from her surgeon as the bands may be too close to the area in the anal canal that contains pain sensors.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
