Hemorrhoids and DRE accuracy

I had colonscopy the end of feb2010 (fibroepithelial polyp on the anal margin) and small hemmorroids in anus), then the polyp and couple of skin tags removed july 2010,(all came back benign) since the op. i was feeling small pink lump balooned outside the anus then i had stool straining suddenly there was a pain and bleeding with clots once and some times on the stool or the toilet tissue, then the outside lump started bleeding once a day for few days, I went to see different doctor from the department that i had the op. feb 2011.
he touched the lump outisde and told me it is thrombosed external hemorrhoid and he put a finger inside and said there is another external hemorroid just inside that bushs from the behind without using Anoscopy he send me home to wait surgery for them.
my question is is this DRE checking is enough for him to rule out some more serious problem by asuming the colonscopy and the opration from july2010 that hardly any serious abnormalites can develop in there?
How high is the accuracy of DRE in this area?

Thank you

I would make an appointment and have a complete colonoscopy to see what the problem is.  I had a hemmorhoidectomy years ago so you might need that also.  I would see a gastroenterologist to have your problem properly diagnosed and treated. Good luck!!
