Recovery from hemerrhoid surgery questions if anybody can help me.

Hello,

I had hemorrhoid surgery 14 days ago and am wondering if anybody that has had the surgery can help me. I had 3 internal hemorrhoids removed. They told me the first week was going to hurt but they really under sold that, they should have said the first week is going to to be the most painful thing you have ever experienced ever! Anyway I have been steadily getting better and went back to work on day 6, which by the way was  mistake, however I have been getting better. My question is this: I am on day 14 and when I have a BM it hurts for the next 6-7 hours. The last couple of days the pain has been manageable without any pain killers but being at work I still have to get stuff done. I am sure by my working, even though I basically have an office job it still irritates it. Can anybody tell me if this is normal after 14 days to have this 6-7 hour pain after a BM? And if so when will it get better?

Thanks

This is normal.  I'm sorry to say that hemorrhoid surgery is one of the most painful surgeries that people can have.  It's not uncommon for people to take 3-6 weeks to feel better.
