Hi Amy, sorry for the delay. It's possible that magnesium can help you but you might have taken magnesium oxide, which is a cheaply made supplement and found in the vast majority of stores. Only about 5% of magnesium is absorbed of this form. (I know, why do they even sell it??? It's CHEAP and they get away with it, THAT'S WHY!).

You might want to try magnesium citrate, of which over 80% is absorbed or go with magnesium taurate, if you develop diarrhea. You might have to go to a real health food store (or at least a GNC) to find the type you need.

Do you have medical insurance? If so, see if you can find a doctor who would be willing to test your vitamins and minerals. This can be the best start because we can't tell what our levels are without testing. Regular doctors may not be willing to do this because they are not trained to think this way about nutrition (at least not yet).

Getting back to your question, no one told me I had poor vein structure, they didn't have to! I had a varicose vein hanging out of my butt!!!  Hello!! There's your sign!! That's essentially what hemorrhoids are!

You are right to question taking things. Most regular medical doctors don't have information on nutrition, so seek out either a nutritionist or a physician who specializes in nutrition/homeopathic remedies. You will not be sorry you did.

If you open the inside of an orange, the white soft lining of the peel???  THAT is full of bioflavanoids! Start eating that while you sort things out. But I do not believe it will hurt you to find a good C vitamin with bioflavanoids, rutin, hesperdin and the other ingredients. Stone root is also very helpful for veins. Do take all supplements one at a time and in the lowest possible doses so you can watch out for possible reactions.  Don't take more than what is recommended on the bottle, more does not always mean better, so use good judgement. Good luck and let me know if you have further questions.

hey, i tried to send you a message but the said i can't.
anw as i already said i drink plenty of water everyday (2L) and i did everything i can but i didn't notice any single change and that's so disappointing.
after searching everywhere, i guess a found the problem and it's caused by my under active thyroid ( i have Hypothyroid) so it's causing a low metabolism and/or my muscles are not working properly.
when i finish my exams i will go to the doctor and sure he will help me.
and about the surgery it is not successful, every patient who did the anal fissure it didn't heal right and re-opened after having a bowel movement or later after a while..
anw thank you for your help i appreciate that

Hello Amy!

I know hemorrhoids can be very painful. Do you have to sit for long periods? Constipation? How bad is the anal fistula, will it have to be excised? I know, many questions. Here is what a hemorrhoid is. There are veins internally and externally of the anal sphincter. These veins have valves in them that allow the blood to flow in one direction, if these valves are damaged by prolonged sitting (gravity), straining during bowel movements (maybe caused by constipation), previous surgery, injury, etc.. this will allow the blood to pool, therefore resulting in hemorrhoids. You can try over the counter medications, increasing your fiber intake, drink plenty of water, NSAIDS for pain and rest. Then if all else fails - surgery. I am a Surgical First Assistant. This surgery can be done under General anesthesia or Spinal. It's not too painful post-op and can be easily controlled. Please don't except any advice on this site without consulting a physician. Please contact me if you would like any more info on this issue or another! Best wishes!  JD1963

HELP IS AT HAND! YOU MUST READ THIS ONE.

If you're here, like me, you've likely already spent a fortune on over the counter preps that aren't much making a difference. If they are not helping, you have poor/compromised vein structure (vascular system).

Repair what is there and you can not only avoid surgery (no matter how bad it feels, it is SO worth trying) PLUS you may prevent it from ever happening to you again. (AMEN).

TRUST ME when I tell you, don't waste one more second before obtaining a good leg vein essential supplement with the following ingredients (or you can buy the ones not found in a combo, separately, all easy to find on-line):

1) Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids
2) Rutin (sometimes this is in the C)
3) Stone Root (also called Collinsonia Root)
4) Horse Chestnut (standardized)
5) Butcher's Broom
6) Bilberry extract
7) Grapeseed extract
8) Hawthorne berry extract
9) Goto Kola extract
10) Stool softener (not one with a laxative!)

Initially, I was concerned as I have a hayfever allergy but none of these supplements bothered me, check with doc if you're particularly sensitive.

Depending on the severity of your condition, you will notice at least small improvements within a few days (for me, within 3.5 days before small noticeable improvement). DO NOT give up because it's not instantly better, that is not how this works! KEEP ON TAKING THEM daily WITH ORANGE JUICE (unless you are experiencing any discomfort, of course).

Every day after that you will notice steady improvement. Just don't forget to take the supplements daily. Once you are at 100%, (don't stop before 100% happens) if it's hard for you to take daily, keep at least a regular maintenance dose maybe 3x a week or over weekends going to prevent further issues.

At the time of this writing, I had used the following which covered all the ingredients listed above:
1) swanson leg vein essentials,
2) solaray vitamin c with bioflavonoid concentrate, rose hops and acerola
3) swanson stone root

But you can find similar with many other vendors.

Important note that you should take to heart. Like in my case, if your veins are in this kind of shape, you may have an undiagnosed nutrition absorption issue, so seriously consider taking a good multiple vitamin with minerals (NOT A TABLET that's encased it what might as well be plastic), also activated B-complex and amino acid complete wouldn't hurt, either.

Wherever possible, always try to get gel capsules, ones with the powder you can see inside of it, in case your stomach does not produce enough acid to break down tablets (so you're not spending money and taking tablets that don't break down for nothing).

In two or three weeks, if this helped, please, please take the time to come back and post to let others know that this worked for you, too!

This is assuming you have had a formal diagnosis. If you were not formally diagnosed with hemorrhoids and still not finding any improvement at all after 1-2 weeks, you should see a physician for a proper diagnosis, it could be something else so don't delay.

Have a happy life! :)
