Autoimmune Hepatitis

Okay...I want to compare symptoms...So I don't feel like an alien....

I've been experiencing over the past year and a half: Elevated liver enzymes and antibodies. High D-dimer test. CRP tests are very high. Low grade temps all the time. Fatigue. Nausea all the time. Abdominal discomfort. A lot of food intolerances. Sjogren's Syndrome (dry everything-sometimes I dont' sweat, if I'm dehydrated). Headaches. Intolerance to cold. Confusion at times (can't focus)....did I leave anything off.....??

Tell me about you....

Please.

Thanks,

Ashley

Hi Jill-

No. I was never formally diagnosed. I was told by the hepatologist that he doesn't feel I need a biopsy at this point, but based on my antibodies being so high and my liver enzymes staying elevated, he foresaw autoimmune hepititis in my future. I'm not sure what that means.

Keep me posted on your biopsy. I hope you have good results. Have you ever had a biopsy before?

Yes, I sometimes to this day I still experience the confusion but really not sure what to attribute it to.  I did take chemical treatment for HCV but going into the liver diseases I was in quite a state of confusion & depression.
My most noteable complaints were weight loss, & upper body arthritis (caused by AIH). Once the treatments for the AIH started the arthritis took close to a yr to stop. And yes, I did have lots of fatigue.  As stated before, talk with your doctor about a biopsy.  Are you seeing a Hepatologist or??  Take care, Jody

I mostly have severe abdominal pain on occassion.  I have a very elevated ANA (antibodies)level and I consistantly have slightly high liver function levels.  Have you been diagnosed, yet?  I've had a liver biopsy.  Results are due today, but you know how docs are (LOL).
