Natanong mo n b sa doctor mo bkit entcavir?  Also, may ibang brand ng entecavir mas mura kaysa sa baraclude. You will be surprise, some of our doctors here in PH eh mas updated p tyo sa mga latest news regarding HepB. Well I guess main reason is we are focus on eliminating this virus so we tend to research more. I don't have regular hospital but my doctor has clinic on st lukes. I will PM you about it.

Hi berna851,

Mabuti at undetected ka na. If you don't mind, can you help post your recent lab test? I am interested to know your HBsAG data.

hi to all, I am takin Entecavir Entegard prodct by Innogen for 4 mos na. It cost 265 each in mercury, but I am buyin from an agent and it cost 235 each..Pinakilala naman nun doktor ko yung ahente sakin kaya dun na ako bumibili.

The thing is, i dont know when could I stop taking madecine, sabi ng ibang doktor kasi hindi naman ako chronic 1 to 2 years, ung iba naman baka 5 years or lifetime pa di sinunod mga bawal..pero hindi ako naniniwala, I will be ok next year.hehe!

Hi..I'm taking entecavir(baraclude)for almost 3 yrs.now..Nagtiis din ako ng halos 3 years kabibili sa mercury drug ng 332 each yata un pero noong nagsr.citizen na ako nakamenos din ng konti..Plan ko magswitch to tenofovir kaya lang madami daw side effects kaya nagdadalawang isip ako dahil ang entecavir wala namang side effects..Kaya stick muna ako sa entecavir at me nakukunan naman ako na much cheaper talaga..Lifetime itong sa akin kasi nga may cancer of the liver ako..Kaya doble sikap para makabili..

Hi kirro,

Since you were adviced to take med it seems you have high virus count. Without showing your lab results, we can onlu assume and specualte now. taking NUCs like baraclude takes years. I hope your case is really an acute case. There is actually specific lab test you can take to determine if you are chronic or not - you should ask your doctor about it.

I used to take Entecavir for almost 4 years, then my virus load started to get high again from 1100 iu/ml to 1700 iu/ml last year. Original count was on million when I started it (2010).

Anyway, my doc and I decided to switch to tenofovir and my recent dna lab shows I have 20 iu/ml. I still have to get my quantitative HbsAg hopefullly I can go to clinic this week.

A doctor in PgH told me to take entecavir without having HVB DNA test, kaya nasimulan ko na kagad, every sixm mos kasi may medical exam ako and on my previous medical exams non reactive ako. Ngaun dahil nasimulan na, sabi nung ibang doktor kailangan ko na ituloy2..hopefully ndi naman lifetime..I am still 32..hehe!

in your case ba kelan ka pa naging reactive?

I was diagnosed year 2010, med requirement for skilled migrant. What types of lab test did you do? It is very unusual to take entecavir or any other antiviral drugs without DNA test. This nuc will only suppress the virus replication and not cure it.
If you are non-reactive on HBsAG then you are cured. Perhaps you are  just acute case and not chronic.

I mean, on my previous medical exam I was non-reactive but on my last medical exam I am reactive, then the doctor told me to take entacavir that is why I am already taking this medicine. Only my HbeAg became non reactive but my Hbsag is still reactive last october, hopefully one day I can be cured..Some of the doctors says 1 to 2 years will be my medication..

Hopefully they I right.

If acute case do you think virus can become undetectable by taking entecavir?

If you are just acute,  there is a very high probability your body will remove the virus. If you want, you can ask for specific lab test (IgM anti-HBc), if this is positive then you are acute, otherwise you are chronic. Antiviral med like entecavir can make the virus undetectable in HBV DNA test, but not remove it.
