Hepatitis B Virus X Protein Impairs Hepatic Insulin Signaling
In conclusion, our data indicate that HBx proteins are able to augment SOCS3 expression and decrease IRS1 proteins, thereby causing impairments of hepatic insulin signaling and inhibition of hepatic insulin action. The results of the present study provide new insight into the pathogenesis of HBV infection underlying the deregulation of components of the insulin signaling framework and chronic hepatic metabolic changes.
bitter melon might help stop these insulin impairment, it is bad the study cannot link hbx protein with its immune suppressing properties because we know that insulin suppresses hbsag in vitro and that hbx is not a part of hbv virus but it is secreted to impair insulin, block interferon and suppress immune system.
what happens if we block or lower hbx influence on insulin by bitter melon or diabetes 2 drugs in vivo?probably no studies in vivo, we only know hbsag, hbvnda lowers in vitro
they are good for general health for sure, a friend is shipping me seeds so i will try to get some fresh ones as well
what is the maximum do you eat as raw?we have to find a moderate safe consumption because there are some articles that describe an immune regulation effect too but i havent got it very clear:
immune system can suppress itself by macrofages/lymphos when the immune response can make damage to our body
in the articles it is not clear if bitter melon suppresses macrofages which suppress immune response so other types of immune response are boosted or if it suppresses total immune response
In my country we use it stuffed with pork, stir fry with beef and some just eat raw. We have no problem with bitterness. There are many bitter foods that we eat. As long as this can fight HBV, there are tons here.
antidepresents they might demage the liver even more do you have any sugestions?
vitamind by sun exposure or sunbed when the sun is not like in summer can help very much with both lipids, hep b and depression.the black rise+a lot of berries fruits makes you full very fast so it is difficult to eat much
also vit d supplements are reported to help depression but i think sun exposure is the best
vitamin d (I have deficiency).
it must be corrected absolutely, we know 100% that lymphocytes don t get active if they don t find vit D
>i don t know if it can be eaten cool
It IS very bitter even cooked (more cooking oil reduce bitterness). I don't think anybody can endure the bitterness of the uncooked. Is it the main useful compounds that tastes bitter? I believe that the bitterness fades when ripe (it turns red).
I read on one webside thet you can dray the fruit and seads on natural sun and eat like thet. I start tomorow so we will see, I will just eat it fresh or juice it.for begining
I have big problem with my weight sinse I have huge apetite and I am emocional eater, and becouse of hep. b I sufer from depresion so is very hard for me. I don't like to take antidepresents they might demage the liver even more do you have any sugestions?
but over the years I noticet thet when my diet is good and When I am more active like in sumer an spring my labs look bether then in winter, and also I am outside on sun and get vitamin d (I have deficiency).
also try to track effects by checking:
alt/ast, glucose baseline and after consuming it for about 4 weeks
as to weight reduction i got much help from
black rise with vegetables, whole wheat bread and berries fruits 160mg daily (especially blueberries) help me a lot because you feel immediately full so you eat less, also calories are not a lot
swimming or treadmill daily
5.5kg in one month but i was bmi 25 borderline and moved to 23, bmi 22-23 should be our goal as hbvers
we have to wait for an answer from asian members they told me they eat it daily cooked with meat but i guess heating might change or lower some nutrients.i don t know if it can be eaten cool
i read on a website earlier for diabetes 2 about 900mg per day or juice 50-100ml per day but i never trust websites like blogs better double check
i also read that concentrated pills might have toxicity so better stay with the fresh natural product
I just calld my loco grosery store (Whole food market )and they orderd fresh fruit for me is comming tomorow and is onley $1.99/Lb. Is going to help me lose weight and control my hepatitis I hope .how much of it I can eat?

very good study just published
i'd rather have the fruit directly but it is not sold here in italy
alcohol 44%
although alcool might be little it is better to avoid anything with alcool
i ve found pills and tea but i prefer tea, i bought it in italy for more safety but the main distributor is in germany, i also saw distributors in US
the last website is in philipppines but i prefer to buy in countries where there is a little of sanitary check on these products

I culdn' find tea the onley thing I have is concentratet bitter melon drops it content organic grain alcohol 44%, is thise a problem?
Using it in meal will help HBV?
well it is all in vitro studies, we just have to try and see what hbsag does in vivo
In my country we eat as vegetable. They cook with meat
how much can you eat usually without problems?i ve strating yesterday drinking 1litre of tea per day at the moment, this is what they suggest for diabetes 2 or diabetes2 prevention
i feel better after eating, feel very active after the meals drinking that tea
In my country we eat as vegetable. They cook with meat. Using it in meal will help HBV?

article on PPAR gamma, this might be the key to lower hbsag and other antigenes and hbvdna, we should find safe ways to do this without using diabetes drugs like actos and rosiglitazone that have sides
here is what rosiglitazone does on hbv by henancing PPARgamma
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20430009
here is the way bitter melon increases PPARgamma
http://www.wjgnet.com/1007-9327/13/1761.asp
http://www.mendeley.com/research/dietary-seed-oil-rich-conjugated-linolenic-acid-bitter-melon-inhibits-azoxymethaneinduced-rat-colon-carcinogenesis-through-elevation-colonic-ppargamma-expression-alteration-lipid-composition/
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15170673
so maybe they target hbv the same way, bitter melon is reported to have mild universal antiviral activity and influence on immune system probably due to PPARgamma
at this point we should find the safe high dose of bitter melon with activity on hbv, if there is some.or in other words try to get the same potency of rosiglitazone with bitter melon which should have less sides of rosiglitazone
about bitter melon sides there is little said and at correct doses it is free of relevant sides, do you know if it has some chanthou?
i have seen sides like coma on a child due to hypo effect but in a small bangladesh study using high dose injected in patients but i guess that's just rubish because there were no doses, number of patients, nothing
Would it help reduce HBV DNA?
maybe you have to try it would make no harm for sure (of course moderate quantities) but if yu take viread hbvdna will get und very fast the best thing is to check if it has any influence on hbsag quantity
it interact with antiviral like Viread?
not known but probably not, just take viread away from bitter melon
There lots around my house. Would it help reduce HBV DNA? If so, I will punch and take the liquid. Would it interact with antiviral like Viread?
