i already checked them and it looks like they are controlled by drug makers or stopped by them:
NIH Launches Hepatitis B Research Network/Hepatitis B Research Network
i was very happy to know it, i have read later this year they are blocked by fda or others and no human trial have been started, they have about 2 years to spend the money from US government but if tirals are not started this money will be lost......

Hepatitis B Foundation
this looks like the only one clean but who knows, they have found the compund active on hbsag but they could never make human trials, if you search their website you will find compound.their research was pretty easy they just tested many many compounds in vitro until they saw one active neutralizing hbsag but the difficult part is the animal and human trials on toxciticy and dose of this compound, it never started since i dont think they are big enough and enough money to do this

i do hope the hepatitis research network will do something

the most advanced studies on cccdna are from replicor and researchers in adelaide university (Australia), i posted their names times ago, they are focusing on cccdna

Hi

Thanks for your advice.

On Internet there are Hackerdoms and related info where we can contact/find experts on computer science/programmers/etc. and related information.  Are there such networks for Researchers kingdom on Hep B for sharing knowhow and information ?

I found follows:-

What I'm interested to know is whether there are researchers working on complete eradication of cccDNA which is the source of HBV ?  If there is then is there any remarkable progress on such researches?  TIA

peginterferon can be stopped by 12 weeks, of corsue in case it is not working for hbsag eradication

i know 2 persons who got rid of hbsag by several courses of peginterferon, they were followed by patrizia farci, a researcher, not by normal doctors

peginterferon works on immune system and etv on hbvdna, the best therapy is a combo of the two but still at research level to do that you need a researcher or very very updated/expert specialist.that's the pan researchers have for me

peginterferon can be stopped by 12 weeks so you might try it first but you need hbsag quantification for this

etv worked perfectly for your sister, alt 14 means fully suppressed hbvdna usually, she will probably hbe neg soon or already and might get rid of hbsag in 1 or 2 decades, etv has no sides so no problem keep using it

Whether you meant waiting for clinical proof?

--Yes.

It was only the advertisement from the factory producing Pegasys?

--Online there are many claims to treating HBV.  What we need is proof, e.g. personal experience backed by posted lab results images.

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

About 9 months ago when my sister, aged 35, started Entecavir therapy her blood test result;

HBV DNA - 4.2 x 10(7) IU/ml
HBeAg - positive
HBsAg - positive
ALT - 600 U/L

Latest test (about 2 months ago)
ALT - 14 U/L
other items NOT tested.

She will attend the follow-up medical consultation on the coming early November.  She is still under Entercaviar treatment.  Her doctor informed her that she has to take at least 2 year Entecavir treatment.

Before stating Entecavir treatment her doctor has been proposing her take Peginterferon injection.  Later her doctor changed to Entecavir therapy on the ground that because of the high level of HBV DNA, Peginterferon injection will bring an inverted effect risking her liver.  After the first 3 month Entercaviar theraphy I advised my sister asking her doctor whether combo therapy, Entercaviar+Pegintereron injection, will improve the healing.  Her doctor did not take this point, saying NO.

I have been aware of Peginterferon for sometimes reading many relevant medical documentation online but overlooking such points on that article mentioned in my first posting of this thread.  Entecavir therapy will be life treatment.  But Peginterferon therapy will take only 2 years.

I read Alinia.  I'll advise my sister seeking her doctor's advice on this medication in the coming follow-up consultation.

if hbsag<1500iu/ml probability of hbv eradication is very high

alternative: tenofovir

i am sorry but post got messed up by medhelp

situations when peginterferon can be very useful and if combined with ntz becomes very potent:
young patients
hbsag<1500iu/ml
high alt, low hbvdna (if in the billions probably useless, in the millions ok)
hbeag positive
no cirrhosis
therapy 1-2years
stop therapy at 12 weeks if no hbsag decline and hbvdna less than 1 log

lamivudine must not be used for hbv, too weak and too many hbv mutations making other drugs useless

interferon can be very useful but only in particular cases and combined with nitazoxanide
young patients
hbsag1log) don t decrease by 12 week must be stopped because useless much better tenofovir
