Am i immune

Hi,
I have had a hepatitis b test at 3 months post exposure and have tested negative and positive for surface antibodies, the doctor said because it is below a reading of 10 then i have to be retested at 6 months as i could of still got it because it takes up to 6 months to show then i need a course of injections to make me immune.
My actual reading was 3.4-5.4 dont why there are two numbers they must of put the sample through a couple of times.
I think i had a  vaccine at 16 for something but dont know what for i also ate a sugar cube with something on it which was for polio anyway do i need to retest or am i immune and do i need a course  of injections or do i just need a booster.

you just need to test hbcab igm, if positive you are clearing an acute hbv that you just had

if hbcab igm is negative and hbcab igg positive: you jad hbv already in the past and are now immune

if both hbcab igm and igg are negative you had vaccine

your doctor is quite ignorant the answer is not wait and retest by the tests above you know exactly what is happening and can stop worring about it in just one day (those tests are pretty stupid and ready same day usually)

Hi,
He said that i have tested negative for core antibodies(dont know if it was igg or igm tho) and he said there was no indication that i have ever had an infection in the past but it was in his opinion that i should still retest at 6 months.
