What about your hbv markers ( hbv profile panel) fibro scan or biopsy result. Just by looking at dna  of 8k is hard to tell. Repeat it in two weeks to get a better idea of what is going on.

But usually for hbv dna over 1000 copies treatment is required. ongoing viral replication is bad I am sure you understand that.

if you are e-negative with viral load that continues you need treatment. Do another viral load measure in 2 - 3 weeks and see what is happening with viral kinetics. If your viral load is still up  or higher treatment is necessary. Those of us with e- negative hep B have a more severe form of hepatitis that requires treatment if viral load is above 1000 copies continuously.

Think of this in a simple terms. That viral replication = more liver cells that are infected.

Treatment choices for you would be either interferon since you have no liver damage or antivirals that are usually life time treatment. But in 4-7 years they promise to have a cure for us out. They are working on it.
