Enlarged Liver

Can you feel an enlarged liver? I have a mass protruding just right of centre under my right rib cage which is more obvious when I am standing up. Is this what happens when your liver is enlarged?

I had an enlarged liver too. That is because your liver is weaker than normal so that it has to enlarge to fulfill the body function. Such enlarged lived can be measured from ultra-sound, you need to see your doctor. When your liver is better, the size will be back to normal - this is what i have had.

Hi adhbv,

It’s been 11 months post exposure for me. Up until 2 weeks ago, I’ve still not tested positive for any Hepatitis B marker including HBV DNA viral load (3 times upto week 31).

However I’ve had Hepatitis like symptoms for 9 months. It’s all so confusing.

Now I’ve got this sort of mass as described above. My tongue is coated and enlarged. My eyes bloodshot. My knuckles ache on and off. Ive had many symptoms over this last 9 months of one sort it another.

Could I still have HBV even with all these negative tests given the symptoms I’ve had in your opinion? My ALT is 29 and AST is 23.
Hi,
If your tests are of good quality - the machine and technique for testing are modern ones, I would say that you are not affected by hbv. Maybe that you are so stressed such that your symptoms are resulting from it, but not from hbv. If you are so concerned, that you shouldn'd, go to test for HBcrAg  - that is even more sensitive. Also test for anti-hbs, anti-hbc, if they are all negative, you should go for a three doses vacine. Good luck.
Thanks for that.

My testing has taken place in multiple reputable professional test centers. I think I would have accepted the results by now if it wasn’t for the constant differing symptoms.

I know something bad is wrong and it seems most like HBV/HCV but I’m negative on tests. I don’t know what else it could be. It doesn’t make sense.

You are right about stress though. It could be to blame for some of it but not it all I think
