Yes, it is due to a high levels of bilirubin, I believe my levels are at 7.1 now.
it is very rare, usually on acute hepatitis since on cronic might lead to death fast, it is due to bilirubin high levels.
a bilirubin high level is a sign of liver failure, the damage on acute is low but on cronic it is not.it will take the time to clear acute hbv i guess (medium 3 months), i have never seen a cronic hbv carrier with yellow
there is also a strange thing, although on acute you have a alt flare from 1000 to 5000 there is no fibrosis in the liver, on cronic the opposite.there is a balance between damage and rigeneration, on acute the balance is ok although high alt flares on cronic is not although alt is very low compared to acute
