Hello stef,

I have seen my doctor in my home country and he still hesitates to treat me.
He wants to treat me only with peg-inf but my alt is not high enough for him.

Ref. range of Alt shows -- 15--65 and the result is 59 (always around 55 --60)
He said it's better to treat with peg-inf when my alt becomes around 120 for 2-3 months.
I learn from this forum that alt 19 should for women and in that case mine is already almost 3 times.
I asked him whether I can already start tnf and then add info lambda when available. He said I cannot start tnf because I will not be able to stop.
I don't know whether he doesn't know about inf lambda or just don't want to talk much. He just said peg-inf is the only one and to trust him.
The truth is he doesn't know that I have done tests such as geno type, fibroscan , hbsag quantity, mutation test; I had to go abroad to do all these tests as they are not available in my country. In fact the doctor from abroad also didn't order me to check the geno type, hbsag quantity, mutation test; I practically ask her to order those tests. Even before those tests she asked me to take antiviral already. But I wanted to start treatment with my doctor from my country because it would be easier for me in the long run.
I think I can already start peg-inf because my hbsag quantity is 2990 iu/ml.
I am really really frustrated; I just want to have one doctor who can guide me and know about latest treatments.. it's really disappointing.

not US, they have only the brand alinia there although also nizonide500 is sold in US at lupin distributors pharmacies

india is the place to look for it, india are the biggest drug makers of the world and you ave about 3 generics there.you may ask pharmacies in your country to import nizonide500 for you from lupin or nitarid from cipla or ask for it in thailand or just buy online
thatdrug is so cheap that you wont find fake drugs online, in india 1000pills of nizonide500 are just 100euros, guess cheaper than water....

just be sure to buy the pills with nitazoxanide content 500mg and double check there is no antibiotic coforumlation.nizonide500 is just ntz 500mg with no antibiotic coformulation but nitarid from cipla has also ntz+antibiotics in some formulations of which i dont recall names

you may also contact them directly,maybe they have distributors in your conutry or thailand.ntz is used for stomach infections in babies or aids patients but around 2000 they discovered it has broadrange antiviral effect on many viruses like hcv, hbv, influenza, it is not potent used monotherapy but comboed with interferon it is because it henances interferon pathways probably helps reduce hbv interference on interferone increasing patients svr

I always go to Thailand for all those test.
But they don't have alinia at all. I checked in the hospital and doctor said Thailand doesn't import this medicine. Smaller clinics and pharmacies don't have it as well. I'll try get it ; just a bit difficult. I have friends in US, I am thinking to ask them for help.

which country are you going for the tests?
in asia india is where all drugs are cheap and available as well as all tests.in india alinia generic is called nizonide500, there are others but this is the best one even more pure than brand alinia in US (we made purity tests thanks to community members)

europe has alinia in hospitals only as orphan drug since there is no market for it, the viruses/bacteria it is active are extremely rare in europe

Thanks for the info.
At the moment I am trying to get Alinia. When I go abroad in December I'll check again hbvdna, hbsag quantity, vit d3. I want to see whether hbvdna drops further because of vit d3 like before.
I'll try to grab the opportunity I have of having high chance to get rid of hbv.

tell him this is all wrong, interferon responce is guided by hbsag level only and best response is on normal alt, hbvdna undetactable which ususally have also low hbsag, if he doesnt agree look for anotherone more updated

wrong again, interferon will ensure tdf can be stopped and again who cares if tdf cannot be stopped there are so many drugs that will be available in 10years, definitely i d change doctor

if nothing is available in ur country it is normal he cant use it he has no knowledge and no clinical experience on it

i think with that low hbsag a combo of interferon+tdf directly could be good too or tdf and then interferon add-on is an opportunity you should not lose, even alinia pretreatment is a very good opportunity we have seen about 1500-2000iu/ml drop in the first months so you d get right in the range of 1000-1500iu/ml with higest eradication chances

if you can afford move to another coutry to start treatment and then just have local doctors to monitor.with such low level of hbsag interferon, vit d3 and alinia should be part of the treatment absolutely
