HEPA B LAB RESULTS

Good day!

Im 26 year old from Philippines and currently applying an overseas Job for Singapore. My recruitment Agency required my some tests for my medical clearance. On Oct. 9, I went to one of the Medical Clinic here and sadly, they have found out that I am positive with HBs Ag. The doctor gave me therefore UNFIT TO WORK.

When I done my research about Singapore, they are allowing foreign workers even if one has HBV carrier. So I ask a complain to a Medical Clinic. Because of this complain, they called up my agency and agreed to undergo again another test. The  Liver Ultrasound, The Anti HBc Total (CMIA) and HBe Ag (CMIA); and the SGPT/ALT. Below are the results:

SGPT/ALT 35 U/L

Immunology

Anti HBc 17.45  = Reactive
HBe Ag  0.27 = Non Reactive

Ultrasound: Liver is in normal sonogram

Note: Immunology: Specimen checked. Results verified. Suggest follow-up testing if clinically indicated.

Then, the doctor gave me the clearance that I can work abroad because I cant infect others in casual contact.

**Mam/Sir/Doc

I'd like to know what are my proper treatment to heal and kick away this Virus?
What should I avoid to keep my liver healthy?
Is my liver currently giving enough energy even if I am infected with HBV?
What are the possible risk if I will not going to any medication? (I have no medication starting 2000)

I was attacked on HBV last 2000, and I don't know where/whom did I get this Virus..

Thank you very much in advance for your help and clarification. God Bless!

Your doctor is a disgrace to his/her profession by labeling you as unfit to work just because you tested positive for HbsAg.

At the moment, there is no cure for Hepatitis B. There are treatments that may clear the virus for a small % of the patients. However there are very effective treatments to control the infection from progressing to severe liver disease.

To keep your liver healthy, you do exactly what everyone has to do to be healthy: a healthy balanced diet, exercise regularly, make sure your Vitamin D level is normal, Avoid drinking and no smoking and watch your weight.

As for energy, you should know, do you have enough energy now? Just remember, we are not superman, we all need adequate sleep and rest.

Not all hbvers need treatment, but they do need regular checkup so that when the tests reveal treatment is needed, then you should start treatment.  Whether treatment is needed depends largely on your ALT, viral load (hbvdna).

Finally, get a good liver doctor.
