has been on this med for 16 wks

which drug?from sides look like interferon which can have mental issues but also severe fibrosis or cirrhosis can change mental state especially if such a bad thing happens.in case of severe liver damage (f3-f4 biopsy or fibroscan>11kpa) you can check hepatitistechnology protocol, it is expensive but if you can afford it stops fatigue or mental illness if due to severe liver damage.

if mental illness is due to interferon you must talk to your doctor and take drugs to lessen that, sides on mental illness can be so severe that they can lead to suicide, so it is very important to treat them if they develop

My husband has been on this med for 16 wks, treatment response is good. He stays sick and has experincenced every S/A there is and nothing that can do. His main problem is his mental state. He is  mean to me and his mother. his only excuse is the meds, but he isn't like this with everyone. Let me add that his son died in a car accident 06/21/10. Why does he treat us this way? he says he stays sick n/v/d all the time. Its driving me crazy. He has not worked but maybe 3 wks tops since. When I try to help it only aggrivates him worse. I have no idea what to do. Please help. By the way he does not allow me or anyone else to go when he has dr appts. So is really going on.

acute cannot make any difference for liver cancer since complete virions will stay only 6-12months and damage to the liver only about 3 months

how long will i live bcoz im chronic stage???
you will probably live all your life and will dye of other causes but there is a risk and although the risk is low somebody will get within that range, so it is better to prevent.
check the book of ignorance about hepatitis B that i posted here on the hbv community or in health pages (link on the right of community page), you will see all percentages of rik per active hbv, inactive hbv, level of alt.

the safest value for alt is <20 and the safest for hbvdna is undetactable

1. Is there any treatement to my problem ?
nitazoxanide (alinia) can lower hbsag on most hbeag negative, off label so doctors cannot prescribe it
all other drugs have no effect or very very little on hbsag and you are already in the situation drug can take you so you can only have damage from them

2. What is my stage ACUTE OR CRONIC?
cronic with inactive replication, cronic hbv has active and inactive periods.
only having hbsag<500iu/ml and hbvdna<2000iu/ml with normal alt you are complitely inactive carrier so probably virus will never start replicating again and you have about 10% probability per year of making hbsag negative

3 hbv is not curable but damage to the liver is.the damage to the liver is only by hbv replication and it can be stopped by interferon, tenofovir, entecavir,  the last 2 once started are for life

making hbsag negative/hbsab positive eradicates hbv forver and makes liver cancer risk almost zero.
now you are still at risk of liver cancer so you must chck liver by ultrasound every 6 months, if hbv was active your risk would have been higher
