should i get tested?

hey, wanted to ask a question here...

about a week ago, i shared a glass and food with a friend who is a Hep B carrier. it was after that when i remembered that i actually had three ulcers (one was bleeding) in my mouth. then i realised that hep b could be transmitted by saliva?

i'm wondering, is there any risk of transmission? three years ago i was vaccinated against Hep B and my antibody titre was 1000 mIU/ml. what does this mean?

thanks!

Berlin- Since your antibody titer (level) is 1000, you're fine.  Anything above 10 is considered to be immuned.

Secondly, even if you are not immuned, it's unlikely to get HepB sharing food (even with your ulcers).  I shared food with my brothers, beat up each other growing up as brothers do, and they are still fine.  Of course I asked them to get vaccinated after I found out.

So I think you are very very low risk.

Meki- How are you feeling? (read your other post about not feeling well)  I hope you are better.  I other day I was pretty much out of it.  I could even offer a come back at that 'no brain' comment.  That will NOT happen again....hahahaha.  I will not forget (insert evil laugh here).

Also I can't disagree with you on Jack pretending to be gay.  That show was way way ahead of its time.  What a sad day that was to lose John.

Been a little slow for HepB lately.  Maybe they found a cure?????  Like you said, can dream right.

If you were vaccinated - you should be fine.

However - it's always a good thing to get tested periodically.

I'm not up on the titer issue - but StevenNY is the King of HepB knowledge here - and he can drop us a refresher course.

Ps. Hmmmmm You know... I've been racking my brain on my favorite show... They were all so good in so many ways... But most definitely the one where he pretends he's gay... *GRIN*
