Hepatitis B -hbv DNA test

Hi! My husband dicovered about two years ago (October 5, 2010) that he was infected with Hepatits B. At that time he did the blood tests and the result was: HBeAG=negative; ALT(SGPT)=446.9U/L; AST(SGOT)= 234.6 U/L and HBV DNA = 26000 iu/ml. Directly the doctors gave him interferon (roferon A) for one year, three times per week.  During the cure, the blood test were normal and HBV DNA was undectable. A month after he eneded the cure (September 22, 2011), and the result of HBV DNA was 246 iu/ml and ALT and AST were in the normal range. Six months after the last blood test, that is on March 13, 2012 he did other blood tests.  The results are: ALT = 48 u/l; AST = 36 u/l; and HBV DNA = 14100 iu/ml.  He has pain in the right side where the liver is placed and is tired all the time. What do these results mean? What should we do? We plan on having a baby and I already had the vaccinne for hepatitis B, so should we have a baby or do we need to wait (is that safe to have a baby)? Now my husband is not taking any medication for 7 months now. Thank you in advance for your help.

sorry i missunderstood, he is not taking any medication now so he needs to plan a therapy with hbv cure:

check hbsag quant and start tenofovir for 1-3 years then add on peginterferon.the highest clearance is on hbsag 1500iu/ml or less when adding interferon but even 8000iu/ml got very low/cleared on some

keep an eye on this forum for future cures:
trl 7 agonists, gcmaf, myracludex, rep9ac replicor

all those tests mean little to nothing to manage and cure hbv, he needs the essential tests which shows hbv clearance.who did interferon was not updated  and not good at all to get him cure, interferon without hbsag quantitative test is almost useless because it is a blind treatment

first of all he needs to check liver damage and monitor it every 6 months by fibroscan, second he needs to know hbsag quantity and after these tests he needs to add on interferon to the antiviral he s probably taking now, entecavir or tenofovir.
the combo has an hbv clearance of 40% first year if hbvdna was und from long time before interferon add on and a 90% response on second year with very low hbsag

monotherapies are useless on hbv, the only thing showing an hbv clearance is sequential treatment by tenofovir or entecavir and then peginterferon add on
