Hepatitis B

Recently I was diagnosed with Acute Hepatitis B. I was told by my Doctor that I tested positive for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen and negative for antibody to hepatitis B surface antigen. Also my liver enzymes were high. Two weeks later I was told that my liver enzymes had returned too normal. My symptoms of dark urine and yellow eyes have gotten better. Do I still have hepatitis or is my body fighting the disease?

until negative you can prevent by immune globulins and vaccine, not so important how long it takes to show up also because all adults clear it (only 2.8% chronicity)

dont remember what shows up first but it can take few weeks or months

I think you're still infected but the acute phase has subsided & given rise to a chronic stage. There are no Docs here...so pls consult an expert.

Good luck,
Ben
