How did you find out you had Hep B?

I was wondering how everyone here found out they were carriers?
Was it an accidental discovery?  Did you have any symptoms?  Were you tipped off by something?

family member just found out by chance, had a bad bacteria infection and they made a routine blood check so they found out she was infected

all neighborhood/relatives checked, almost anybody had it or cleared it, it was the time when there was no mandatory vaccination at birth in italy, now nobody can get infected and hbv is almost eradicated here only immigrants can carry it

hi, i just joined the forum,went for a yearly checkup and negative on all blood samples, decided to donate my good blood and after a few weeks was told to go back to the clinic, there they told me i had bsag, total shock as my doctor gave the all clear, they explained doctors check local blood but not virus in blood, so tell all friends get checked for hepatisis as well,, hope your well.. billy. nice to talk to people with the same problem......

blood testing is only the way to find if you are a carrier

Usually during some normal blood tests. For me, I found out it when I am trying to donate blood.
