How many months from first hepa B vaccination can develop antibody?

Hello,

Good day! I would like to inquire how many months from first hepa B vaccination can a person develop antibody? Actually, I had my first shot last July 15, 2008. My second dose was in August 15, 2008. I check my HBSAg today November 7, 2008 and the result yield non-reactive.

My first hepa B vaccine was given on July 15, 2008 at noontime. On Friday night July 18, 2008 I had a high fever and it became intermittent for 3 days. I was hospitalized in July 22 due to minimal pneumonia. Does my vaccination contributed to my illness? Does my illness caused me not to develop antibody? I am hoping for your information regarding this matter. Thank you very much.

I think you need to wait a month or two after your third shots and that the time for you to check your HBsAb ( its the antiboby not the antigen). In your case, you will have your third shots January of next year (2009) so have yourself tested either Feb or March.

For some reason there are people out there that dont respond right away with the hep b vaccine series, they are called non-responders ( some will get a boosters and some would get three times of the full hep b vaccine series) but as long as you are free from HBV ( HBsAg) you are fine.

HBsAg non-reactive means you don't have HBV.  What is your anti-HBs?
