Is hbsab test necessary

I am chb patient from 2012.currently treatment with entacavir from three years.my two kids and all family members r hsag negative they all vaccinated.but still now I am worry of hbv transmission. Should I check anti hbsab level to all of my family members or vaccination is anough. Please guide me dear community members. Thanks

The full vaccination consists of 3 vaccines...did they take the full course? More than 95% of those who take full 3 vaccines develop immunity...those who don't need additional vaccines.

Sure go ahead and check (simple blood test) whether they become immune especially kids as it is virtually impossible for healthy adults not to clear infection...

Hbsab >10iu/ ml  is consider safe. Yes you r in right path ilbs is very good for hbv patient specially Dr shiv Kumar satin .please update your status it will helpful for other chb patient

Hbsab 5.6
Hbsag negative
Anti hbe 0.22
Anti hbc IgM 1.45 (positive)
What does these results indicate

My mother had 3 doses 10 yrs bk ,,she got 1 booster dose too 3 months back , her hbsag is negative ,,,,,
Though her hbsab is 5.6 ( negative ) ,,anti hbe 0.22 , anti hbc IgM 1.45 positive .
I am going to see doctor ( ilbs delhi )
Will update what they say .

it will be better if u check it and reimmunise if they are at low hbsab levels

Hello varsa , same goes with me .
My father diagnosed as hbsag +ve ,doctors prescibed for family screening that need 4 tests .( hbsag ,anti hbs, anti hbc total , anti hbe)
Anti hbs is the marka of immunity level we develop either by vaccination or by recovery via immune system ,and it decreases with time ,so medical society adviced initial 3 doses ( at 1,1,5 mnths interval ) followed by 1 booster dose at interval of 5 yrs

yes you must check it because vaccine can fail
