Jaundice clearace

Hi Im experiencing symptoms of jaudince - skin and sclera have a yellow tinge. The eyes are slightly brown, which could be mix of my dry eyes (redness) and the yellow jaundice tinge. Upon the receipt of treatment, how long would it take for it to go away? Will my sclera get back to being white? How long would that take? Please help!

Could this be a reason for the need of antivirals/treatment?

no, they are useless on virus

Could this be my immune system fighting the disease?

yes just check hbcab igm to be positive so you are sure it is acute and wil be cleared within weeks.take vit D supplements 5000iu daily to help immune system response

Are you a doctor? You seem very knowledgeable on the subject. I have been feel quite tired and rundown. I guess not enough that I cant go to work, but its def not normal. My eyes of course as I mentioned above have been dark and slightly brown. Have been feeling a dull pain/ discomfort in my right rib cage, but not very often. Stools have been a clayish. Is this the virus attacking my immune system or is it the other way around? Is there anything I can do about this? Or do I have to just let it run its course provided that I'm under my doctor's close supervision?

without hbcab igm is not possible to know if you have cronic or acute hbv

hbsab>10miu/ml is what makes virus clearance (except less common hbsag mutants)
hbeag/hbeab is not important to clear the virus although it may indicate start of recovery

hbvdna pcr and hbsag quantity in iu/ml (architect and roches quant all older clia, elisa tests useless) are the most important to follow virus claearance

pick of acute hbv with synthoms on very few poeple last 2-4 weeks after this period the disease becomes silent and virus (hbsag) gets cleared in the following months (3-12 months)

My results revealed the following;

HBeag REACTIVE
HBeab REACTIVE
HBsag REACTIVE
HBeab REACTIVE

Do the doctors have to test me for the HBcab IGM or is it part of the initial/original test?

Hi have been recently diagnosed with Hep B...Could this be a reason for the need of antivirals/treatment? I have been eating pretty well/healthy. I eat home cooked food most of the time excluding fried/greasy foods. Mainly Juices, greens, fish, chicken and fruits. Could this be my immune system fighting the disease? Thanks much for your previous feedback.

you just have to check which virus you have if not known yet
hbv, hcv, hav, hev

if it is not virus you have to check for liver diseases, jaudince is very rare on hepatitis and happens rarely only on acute hepatitis and never on cronic.it is usally due to other illnesses of the liver and not hepatitis so check with your doctor, liver function is also severely impaired when jaudince happens so check what the reason is as soon as possible

if due to hepatitis it will clear itself in about 4 weeks, the pick of acute phase, to know if it is acute hbv the tests are: hbeag and hbcab igm

there is no cure for jaundice, but vitamin E is very good for skin and eyes, it will help lessen your jaundice, normally it will take 2 to 4 weeks to go away.
