It's very kind of you to help out your aunt. But the best thing you can do for her is to encourage her to see a doctor and ask for his or her expert opinion on Revovir. But just to give you an idea what this medicine is about, Revovir is a  widely accepted and affordable treatment for hepatitis b. In South Korea, Revovir has been approved for the treatment of chronic hepatitis b. [See link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20196804]. Although, there are some side effects you are also at risk with side effects from other forms of treatment.

Resection is surgical removal of part of the liver containing the tumor. As you know, our liver can regrow. That is why we can have living liver donation. Of course, not all liver tumors are suitable for resection.

"as to hcc use of simvastatin cuts liver cancer risk about 40-50%, this drug is used as a cholesterol lowering drug but studies on about over 1million patients using it found a lower percentage of liver cancer.
simvastain makes liver cancer cells apoptosis (suicide) while keeping healthy normal cells, it also prevents fatty liver and fibrosis and imporves cirrhotic livers"

what dosage is effective against chronic HBV ? Thanks.

you need to focus on hcc first, rejection or liver transplant, but also the antiviral is of maximum importance for hcc recurrance.
with the use of potent antivirals like tenofovir recurrance of hcc is extremly low

i am not sure if entecavir can be ok after using revovir.entecavir has about 1.5% of resistance on naive patients but it increases to 50% and more on those with lamivudine mutations which may be the same as revovir ones

You got the appropriate answer from Stef already, you should come back with all diagnostics in the forum, as i must say too that change the Doctor because you can't expect good yield from the person who didn't know even out dated notorious molecule. just come back with all relevant information..........rest at vulnerable stage of liver  entecavir 1mg dosage may be warranted.

Very sorry to hear about your Aunty's HCC. I am not a doctor or expert on HCC. Your Aunty's attention should focus on treating her HCC first, treating HBV is secondary. Resection or liver transplant offers a complete cure for HCC. Her HBV treatment will be dictated somewhat by her HCC treatment and most likely involves the use of Tenofovir or Entecavir.

Just my opinion.

revovir (clevudine) is a fraud on you philippines, the drug is banned worldwide for the weak effect on hbv, resistance development mutations and especially for the severe sides effects.in your country doctors and government has been probably corrupted because even the drug makers haulted the human trials as the sides effect developped.

the best drug for hbv is tenofovir, no resistance, cheap and the most potent so change doctor as soon as possible and get tenofovir

another drug available which is safe is entecavir, all other antivirals are not used anymore because weak and for mutations problems
