Guess, u hided ur hbsag+ status and got the medical insurance. In future u got the liver problems then u are trying to get the insurance, at the time that medical insurance company will review ur past medical history and easily they found u were hided ur hbsag+ status. So surely they will reject ur claim, after u r gng to court for judgement ,disapponitendly judgement will be favour to insurance company only. So dont waste ur time for taking medical insuracnce instead u can take life cover policies(15 to 20 year policy). So once ur died or not (after15 or 20 years) u will get a lump-sump amount. Above is my opinion only. Do what u think.
Also law doesn't discriminates on the basis of hbsag status
You are right Jatashankar.
No need to tell that we have HBsAg+ and go for insurance. As it lasts throughout our life, doesn't mean that we shouldn't get insurance throughout our life.
Have u checked for clauses from them that hbsag patients won't b given insurance. If they give mediclaim without checking u should do it. U can seek court later but that's a tedious job here.
It's a risky game. U can show in future that u come to know it recently. How will they prove u knew it earlier.
no there is no test at my age (31) however insurance works on trust. They can decline my claims in future when i really need the money if they can prove that i hid facts from them. Many insurance claims get rejected basis this.Plus i will end up loosing all the premium amount i would have spent then.
If they cud not tell ur geno claim back ur money.
Why do you want to tell them regarding HBsAg status? Do they do this test before they give insurance to you? Just I am checking. I don't know how it works.
meeting my doctor on Thursday will ask him if i need to shift to tdf.
Tried getting a genotype done ,however the results were inconsistent as the hbv dna count was <2000iu/ml.wasted 9000 on the test :-(
I am ok taking any insurance currently however not able to get any as all companies are rejecting after hearing HBSAG+ status.
Yes tdf tabs daily needed indefinitely
No tenofovir tabs are ₹1500/30 tab box. ₹50/tab.
I didn't check geno coz it's of no clinical use and costly. Treatment is same for all genos. B and D genos are dominant in indian subcontinent.
Jatashankar,
Did you check your genotype? I think all Indians will have the same genotype of HBV. I was thinking of checking it. Tenofovir cost is 1500 per tablet? Do we need to take it every day??
Man12345 if u r on baraclude better change to tenofovir cause it's more effective drug and cheap with no resistance. It is the 1st drug of choice for hbv treatment. Baraclude has resistance issues. It is very low chance of liver cancer if u r on long term tenofovir treatment. Plus a cure will certainly come within next 10yrs to make us all rid of this disease. Don't worry too much, save money and take any medical insurance, I hope cancer never faces ur life.
i am on barclude/entacavir ,which costs around 250/day.This i can manage...the problem is if something like cirrihosis or liver cancer happens in future then i would need around 15-20 lakhs.Wanted an insurance for that :-(
Tenofovir cost about ₹1500 in India ..
Check for REVIRO of dr.reddy a standard brand or TENVIR of cipla.
Does anyone have a direct website to cheap Tenofovir in India? I checked cipla but didn't see any prices.
Ohh that's sad.. Sorry bro not much idea.. Keep regulating ur hbv so complications don't arise later in life
not sure about LIc..none of the private players are offering.Problem with govt insurers are that the sum assured is very less.
Do LIC is also not giving it.
Ohh this is bad to hear coz I too was planning to take med insurance
