A liver biopsy is a very useful diagnostic tool in the right hands.  some doctors will order it more than others.  such biopsy are pretty normal for those with chronic viral hepatitis.  Go post in the Hepatitis C forum to ask for some info.  They have much more experience there.  Tell them the HepB crew referred you.

"i'm having pains on my right side" this is not normal and requires attention.

Liver biopsy is an invasive procedure that gives more accurate result.  So you must have a good reason to have it.  What did your doctor give as the reason?
