Nutrition Test

I am planning to go and visit nutrition doctor tomorrow. I want to make sure that I have good vitamins, minerals in my body to make sure that I am boosting immunity power. I don't know what all the tests they recommend, I will post you guys tomorrow.

As I had Vit d3 level very low, I don't wonder if other vitamins/mineral levela are low. I will take supplements depending on the result.

What you guys say? Is it better step or it's of no use for HBV?

Regards,
Ram

I was going to mention B-12 Defeciency but it looks like you have this covered. I never tested for this but I suspect I have the same. It's one of the vitamins I add to my daily intake of vitamins.

Ram remember Steff said no dairies while on vit d. Additionally adults should avoid milk coz it causes indigestion due to deficiency of enzyme lactase leading to flatulence.
This is called lactose intolerance. Lactase is abundant in children. Curd will b better for u as lactobacillus in milk has already digested milk lactose.
Yes u right regarding the medical system prescribing supplements but we should take the right diet if not want that. Dietary def is a major concern in veg ppl. M veg too.

Yes Jeff, I dont know how system works. I am not sure if I need to see doctor  to get some B12 deficiency Vitamins or I can manage by drinking more milk as I am vegeterian.

I am sure that if I visit hospital, they will give suppliments and will ask me to stop after few months. They never bother what happens after I stop suppliments.

NOt a good doctor only tests can show deficiencies whenyou see symptoms there is alreadya disease because of deficiencies and it might not possible to repair at that point by simple balance of deficiencies

i mean we must test for anything and not wait for the damage to occur

U don't need to worry about these tests they are simply linked to ur hemoglobin quantity inside ur rbc. Simple correction in diet like green leafy vegetables will normalise it. While having hbv u need to check ur TLCs mainly that indicates any inflammation in body.
Vit b12 deficiency is also a nutritional deficiency and unrelated to hbv, correction in diet + one mecobal tab 1500mcg will correct that.
Instead if u take wat I suggested above will do most of the things for u.

Thanks Stef and Jatashankar for your info.

I went to Nutritionist today, she said as I don't have symptoms no test is required and she suggested me to go for some changes in my food style.

But I got CBC test and Vitamin B12 test reports today. Looks like HBV plays with B12 and CBC too (I am not sure, I am guessing on these results)

Report shows that I am having B12 vitamin deficiency. Value is 139 pg/ml(Reference range is 211.0-946.0)

For CBC there are few values are abnormal.
MCH- 33.0 (Reference Range is 27.0 to 32)
MCHC-35.8(Reference Range is 31.5 to 34.5) and
RDW-11.3(Reference Range is 11.6 to 14.0)

I am not sure whether I need to worry about these results if they are related to HBV.

Problem is that Hepatologists they don't talk about these deficians and Physicians won't be knowing much about HBV.

I asked for Selenium deficiancy test in the lab, it's very rare test and it's not available that's what they said. Thanks.

Thanks flyinsky. If there is any deficiency like Vit D3, I can go for suppliments if it's required.

We never know what all the vitamins/minerals it affects us. It's better to maintain all good.
