My doctor ordered Completed Blood Count and # of other tests. What HBsAg confirmation positive Abnormal – positive hep b surface antigen was confirmed by neutralization assay mean?
Why/what reason doctor asked to drawn blood on my third day of menstrual cycle for blood test above?
Second test 2/6/2013 results: AST 23 Reference Interval 0-40, ALT 20 Ref Intr 0-32, Hep B core ab igm negative ref intr negative, positive HBV DNA detected qualitative only, Hep B surface ab 0.18 index value: 0.00-0.99 inconsistent w/immunity 0.00 – 0.99 Consistent w/immunity >0.99, HCV ab .01 s/co ratio Ref Intr 0.0-0.9, Hep Be Ag: negative ref intr negative.
My OB/Gyn referred me to Gastroenterology regarding hep b. And Gastr doctor didn’t say much except ordered the following to tests: Ultrasound on liver, blood test on HBV surface ab and AFP, Serum Tumor Marker. Should I take these tests?
Based on the results above, am I hep b positive? If so, is it acute? Am I contagious to my spouse if we were xx because we are trying to have a baby? Is it safe to be pregnant while having this disease?
BTW, my spouse is immune (tested 4 yrs ago).
