Vitamin d level

This is my first time I checked my serum vitamin d level. The result is 21ug/L  and says it is insufficient.
As I learned that the result comes usually in ng/ml,so my result should be 21ng/ml.
Now it is no doubt that I require supplements. So dear friends with experience on this, please advice me on how to go ahead..the dosage of vitamin d likely required for me,how frequently should I get tested after supplements and how to take the supplements.Thanking wholeheartedly in advance....

Hi fightHBV

Please check the  unit of your vitamin test result again

You need to take 10000 iu VITAMIN D3 capsules per day (not Vitamin D2), this to be taken with the meals (i take it during lunch) . Take for six  months and recheck. According to expert guidance here our vitamin D levels should rise to 100ng/ml. Once that is achieved lower the dose to 2000IU or 5000IU

I take Solgar Softgel 10000 IU capsule per day (i order online) during lunch time. I six months my Vita2D level rose from 19ng/ml to 67ng/ml

Hello..I am really grateful for your comment
The unit is ug/L.I think it is micrograms per liter.
I expected the unit to be in ng/ml
